Every single Friday??? That's crazy!
Hmm, do you have any pets? She could take a pet to school! Or a favourite toy. Or how about a memento from a recent holiday - then she can talk about the holiday.
You could take her on a trip at the weekend - to a petting zoo, perhaps, or an aquarium - and she can pick something from the gift shop to take into school the following Friday to facilitate talking about what she learned?
You could do some crafts with her the weekend before - say paper mache or a macaroni picture - and she could take in what she made and tell everybody how to make it.
Ooh, you could make cookies together and then she could take some in (you might have to bake some fresh ones the night before!), let everybody try one, and tell them how to bake cookies!
This is so much fun! I can't wait to have a school aged child!!
Edit - is *she* a *he*?? Sorry!

@locavore_mama: I asked her and she said "no, she wouldn't fit in my backpack. You can't bring in a real baby. She belongs at home." So there goes that idea! Lol.
@Cherrybee: yes, every week! These are great ideas, thanks! And yes, she!

@Andrea: Do you ask her what she wants to bring? Does she have ideas? DS will just say, "I'm bringing my Darth Vadar key chain in for show and tell today." He always thinks of stuff to bring in, even if it seems lame to me, lol.

@Dandelion: yes, she does, but as you say sometimes I think it is "lame". Haha. But they are 2 and 3 year olds so they probably think most things are cool.

@Andrea: Yep, they are easily impressed. And if it's a popular toy, all the kids will think it's very cool.

Ours is every week but its also based off the letter of the week! This week was "N" so we took down one of the 5 birds nests in the backyard and let him share that.

That is a lot of show and tell! We have a lot of cars, so I am sure they can make an appearance every week for a long time.
It's so freaking materialistic though, I just hate the thought of merchandise in the class room. It could breed jealousy. And if other kids bring in home made or handmade stuff, they could get made fun of. Gah. I'd better join the PTA!

@Mamaof2: I was thinking of asking the teacher for some kind of direction!

Wow, every week is intense. My son had show and tell last year too. It wasn't every week. One child would go each week. Most of the items brought in were toys. On his first go, I suggested his lovey. After that, he started suggesting things on his own. Some of the other things were a favorite board game, an abacus, his toy drum that played music, etc. I just made sure that it was something he can easily show and explain it.

DD has show and tell every Thursday at preschool. We get a theme each week from the teacher which helps but we are pretty lame in what she takes. The themes are based around the letter or number they are working on that week. Here are a few that I remember:
B-baby doll
C-can of tuna (DH in charge)
E-Elephant water bottle
F-pocket flashlight
5-book titled "5 wishing stars"

Usually gifts from family or little items we've picked up when we've traveled. Last time it was a giant pencil from Canada.
B's is once a month though so that's much easier than every week!

Bumping this up...my son has show and tell once a month and he is insisting that whatever he brings has batteries...I think that's because it's part of his "schtick." Last month he brought in a book that makes animal sounds and this morning, since we didn't have anything picked out I let him bring a small recycling truck, sorry Mrs. M!
I need some other ideas, anything?

@looch: This is probably too late to be helpful, but these days our daughter loves bringing her favorite books to show-and-tell!

Ours is every Friday, too. We are usually given a theme. Last week was something yellow, so he brought in his play construction hat. This week was Z (which was hard!) but luckily we found a Zoo Coloring Book laying around, so he brought that in.

@mrbee: We have been doing books, and the last round, I was a few weeks ago, he wanted to bring a spiderman figure so I let him. I dunno, I get the point of it, for all of the kids, but man, I would love it if they sent us a theme...although, I might pretend and make some up...or send the teacher that suggestion littlebug!

Ours is weekly with a theme too, but I'm over it. She brings whatever toy/ gadget/book she's into that morning.
