I think my LO will be very curious when I nurse the new baby. She will be 16 months old and I worry about her getting jealous! Maybe this would be a good time to introduce her to TV?

Sadly my DD watched quite a bit of TV while I nursed DS. We had to wean her off the tv after I weaned DS! Sometimes I has to multi task and to stuff like feed her dinner while nursing. Boy that was a rough time, so glad it's over! Tv sounds like a good plan as any for you

charlie was 22 months when olive was born. he was a little jealous in the beginning, but overall handled it very well. he would say "i want to drink milk from that boob." haha.

My mom tells me she would read to my brother while she nursed my sister-- he was less than 2 years when she was born.

she plays and sometimes asks for boob. I've actually been nursing my daughter before nap and bedtime.

DS is 8 so he just goes about his business. lol
Hopefully P will still be nursing/nursing age so I'll just tandem nurse.

She doesn't seem interested to nurse, thank goodness. She just goofs around and touches my boobs!

I always worry about this when we have more kids, so this is great info! I'm hoping by the time LO is older, he'll be too busy to mind if we have another baby.

@Andrea: Lol, is she fascinated by your milk makers?! Your LO is cute.

@autumnlove: she's surprisingly accepting of it and not jealous. When she first saw me nurse, I told her that the baby drinks mommy's milk and she just said OK. Now she calls it "mommy's milk". Tonight she didn't want to share her dried prunes with my mom (go figure). So I asked if she would share with K and she said "No, she doesn't have any teeth!". Haha, totally random but for some reason this made me think of that.

@Andrea: I hope my LO is ok with it! I think she is possessive!

When Sienna was born Mavrick like Charlie was 22 months old. NOT ONCE and I repeat NOT ONCE has he asked for the boob, or pulled his sister away. I'm still shocked to this day.

@autumnlove: she may surprise you. I am super surprised about L!

@runsyellowlites: you're having another one soon? I've only known one mama who nursed through pregnancy - most mama's dry up in the first trimester!

@Mrs. Pen: We're thinking of trying around P's 1st birthday. Most of the moms in my AP group and a good handful in my Natural Moms group have been able to nurse through. I figure as long as P doesn't "need" it then I'm okay with her weaning if I lose supply or have taste changes. She REALLY loves nursing though so I could see her sticking with it, or maybe weaning but going back to nursing after the next arrives (I've heard that happens too).

DS either keeps playing when I feed DD or he will come and watch and talk to us. When I finish one side he will tell me that she needs more milk and that she's still hungry LOL

i have no experience, but a friend of mines son was 17 months when her daughter was born and she ended up having to pump mainly because he wouldn't leave her alone while she was trying to BF. i don't know what she tried to do to prevent him from doing that, but it doesn't seem to have worked haha.

@sarbear: Oh no, I don't want to pump as much! I hope my LO adapts well!
