I was just wondering what foods you introduced LO to when you first started solids with them? And was there any reason for the type of food, or the order you used when introducing them?
Just curious because I'm super excited about feeding my baby

the very first was a big piece of steamed broccoli and cucumber slices that he mostly gummed at. then we randomly tried tahini mixed with a little bit of formula (tahini has a lot of calories and i wanted to maximize calories since he was still primarily on breastmilk/formula).

We did butternut squash purée. It's usually pretty well liked by babies because it's slightly sweet. I think after that we did sugar snap peas and then I went for something with no sweetness at all, green beans. He liked all of them the same, sweetness or not.
Oh and I read that avocado is a good first. We did that somewhere near the beginning.

We did avocado first, then sweet potatoes, butternut squash, and bananas. DS loved everything but in a more chunky form than purees so I ended up making all of his food and he switched to more of a BLW approach around 7 months.

I used the charts on this website for ideas of which foods to introduce and when/what order. It was suggested by our peds office. His first food was green bean purée and he wasn't really impressed! http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com

It is recommended to start with veggies and after two or three introduce the first fruit. Babies are going to be more drawn to the sweet taste of fruit and experts say that if they don't have exposure to veggies first, they will likely push away veggies and prefer fruits.

We started with porridge at 5 months and then progressed to fruit purees at 5.5 months.
