Does it all eventually leak out? Does your body absorb it? Anyone know?

I think it leaks out. Then, your body gets the message (eventually) to stop making more.

I just dried up. I didn't leak at all during weaning. I only leaked early in his newborn days, but not much after that. I've heard of some women wearing nursing pads while they weaned since they leaked a bit.

i was wondering the exact same thing! i have not pumped in about a week (since LO turned one) and was wondering what happened to any left over milk in there. i never got engorged or anything (prob bc I was only down to 1-2 sessions a day).

I was wondering this too! I pumped once a day for 3 days (i was just pumping at this point) and didnt have to pump today, but i can tell there is still milk there. I dont see it all leaking out though, since my breasts only leak when really really engorged....i was thinking maybe reabsorbed...?

also wondering this! we're down to two nursing sessions. but by each one, I have a hard lump in my right boob (always an overachiever, that one..the left side is like, deflated). I am terrified of weaning because I am terrified of blocked ducts and mastitis.

@DillonLion: Stop beating yourself up about it. I made it 8 months. I had some guilt over switching to formula and weaning. In the end, both LO and I were happy with the decision. Now, he drinks WCM happily with a little work at the beginning.
For laughs, he still plays with my boobs occasionally. It was hilarious when he found my Fitbit on my bra, took it off, then put it back right in between my boobs. Yep, he's got a sense of humor.

Seriously guys, I'm semi-positive my boob milk will turn into fat and melt its way down to my ass.
