I would basically just only ask her to do housework associated directly with her time with the kids (makes them lunch and then clean it up, clean up the play room when they are finished in there, etc.). I probably wouldn't have her doing laundry unless it was a situation where the kids got super dirty and the clothes needed to be cleaned immediately.

That's basically what our nanny does. She also keeps LO's drawers organzed and cycles out clothes that are too small or out of season. We never asked her to do that - she just likes to have things very organized. She also meal plans for LO's lunches and keeps a running list of things we need for her. I would definitely have her do baby laundry - it's a pretty common job task around here for nannies.

I did the things related to the kid as a nanny, so food prep/clean up, laundry, general clean up of toys, etc. Basically what you said. I will say that as a nanny, I considered the act that I got down time during naps as part of my compensation. So I was okay that I didn't get paid as much as might have elsewhere. So depending on what you consider well paid, that might be something to keep in mind when you think of the job as mostly down time.
