I usually just give lo some of what I'm eating. Is that normal, or am I just being lazy?

That sounds perfect to me! I always have LO eat what we eat. I don't believe in making separate kiddie meals.

Oh man...This whole solids-thing is killing me slowly. I haven't figured it out. LO doesn't understand the concept of picking up food and putting it in her mouth (she puts every other thing in her mouth, though! Geez!).

@Rubies: you're not alone! It took my lo a while too. First she wouldn't touch it and id have to put it in her mouth. She'd open her mouth like a little birdie. Then she started picking it up, putting her hand in her mouth, chew on her fingers then drop her food on the tray. Now she's finally putting the food in her mouth and eating it.

I try and do that too. I do supplement with store bought baby food, now that's lazy! (and I don't care!)

I offer the same as what I eat. I try to make sure there is one thing that he is likely to eat so if he chooses not to eat, he still gets a little something.

yeah, Liv is 9 months and at this point, we usually give her what we are having. She eats 3 real meals per day, then in between she snacks on steamed carrots, organic puffs, or fruit.
