I am 34 days away from my goal of one year. I really, really, really want to be done already.

12 months is my goal but planning on continuing until about 18 months. I think 2 years would be my cut off. She's 7.5 months right now.

@ms.janedoe: I'm in the same boat as you! My goal is to try it, at least for a week, and we'll see what happens from there. My mom had a really, really hard time breastfeeding all of us, so if I can even make it a few weeks, I will be quite proud.

12 months. We are only two months away and it's getting hard. I looked in my freezer today and have only two bags of bm left. Not sure if I'll make it.

My long-term goal was 12 months, anything since has just been lagniappe.

My goal was 12 months. LO is 14 mos now and still very interested. I'm hoping to be done BF by the time the next LO is here (DS will be almost 22 mos). I don't have any interest in tandem nursing.

Prebaby my goal was one year. Now that DD is nearly 7 months, I can't imagine not nursing passed a year. My new goal is 2 years.
Obviously if DD weans herself before then, that's fine. I really want to allow her to self wean.

17 months now... and hoping to at least make it to Thanksgiving to survive the flight, and then it's just at the "we'll see" level.
Never thought I'd be into extended BFing but it just seemed weired to stop so we kept going. Around 16 months it became less "on demand" than it was.

Right now, at 36 weeks pregnant and gearing up to attempt nursing a third baby with a diagnoses of Insufficient Glandular Tissue for myself, my first goal is 6 weeks. 6 weeks of going hard at it, nursing, nursing, nursing, pumping, supplementing with a Supplemental Nursing System if I have to, trying all the herbs and other supplements I've learned about since the last time. 6 weeks is my goal and then I can reevaluate how all this effort is effecting me and my baby and the rest of our family and then go from there, without guilt. After that my goals would be 8 weeks, 12 weeks, 6 months, and a year. Anytime past a year would be a huge, huge bonus.

At least some breastmilk until 12 months. I don't plan on pumping past that point as I have a lot of work travel coming up around the 12 month mark. I don't mind doing morning and evening nursing sessions a little past the 12 month mark so LO can gradually wean, but I'm pretty keen to be done with breastfeeding.

We've made it to twelve months so I have no further goals but I can see that my little nurse-aholic is going to be in it for the long haul!

We are 19 months in today. I don't have a goal, but I do think it would be kind of cool if she weaned at age five and I could say I nursed for a full decade un-interrupted. But that's just me being a huge dork We plan to do self-weaning again, so only time will tell, I suppose.

My initial goal was 6 months- and we made it there. Now its 7 months- then will be 8- then will be 9- Etc. I don't want to put too much pressure on it! DS already drinks some formula at night when I am at work because I cant produce as much as he wants! (although the days I BF all day- he does fine... urg I don't get it!!)

While I was pregnant I wanted to go for 6 months, now I'm going to stop pumping at 1 month.

@MrsTiz: Oh sweetie, I understand your pain/frustration/resentment completely! I tore myself up over it. I wrote this post about a month in to get my feelings out: http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/i-am-not-a-failure.
In the end, I was able to BF but we heavily supplement. B had a tongue and lip tie and his mouth was so small compared to my ginormous boobs. Nursing didn't work for us at all.
Then, right when I was about to give up, he became interested in watching me pump. He started smacking his lips so on a whim I put him on the boob and he latched. It was so bizarre.
A month is a good run! I always tell DH the BFing during those first couple months was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. I let it consume me and lost out on a lot of time with DS because of it. There is nothing wrong with formula!

My goal is 12 months. I need to start pumping more to build a stash but Lo is up every one hour at night so she is constantly eating that i am drained by morning. I will re-evaluate at the 12 month mark

@Kemma: I'm pretty sure my goal pegs me as at least a little unbalanced But I am curious to see where we end up. She is not nursing as much as Ellie was at this age, but is still 5+ times a day.

Ideally, one year. I can't wait for the fee digs to space out a bit though.
