What % Millennial Stereotype are you?

  1. Mrs. Pen

    blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts

    23%
    I was born in 1989

I do stream music and watch Netflix, amazon prime, and Hulu. Then again so do my parents.

I agree that some questions were bizarre. What's with the feminist question? Many many non millenials would say they're feminists! Not sure how belief in equal rights for women makes me more of a millennial but okay haha

  2. pregnantbee

    grapefruit / 4717 posts

I also got 14%. Then I felt old because I have no idea who Drake is.

  3. Mrs. Pen

@Jackiedavis87: omg I'm so sorry to say I laughed out loud about the Molly 😂 I have never done drugs ever, but did know what it is.
I think partly cause of my career, I had to learn the names of a lot of drugs (including the slang terms).

  4. Mrs. Pen

    blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts

    @pregnantbee: I didn't know him either 🙈

  5. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Mrs. Pen: Maybe it's the opposite! Maybe Millennials don't admit to being Feminists??

  6. pregnantbee

    grapefruit / 4717 posts

@Mrs. Pen: Lol glad I'm not alone.

  7. sapphire

    nectarine / 2173 posts

23% and surprised it was even that high!

  8. yellowbird

    69!

  9. MrsMccarthy

    honeydew / 7295 posts

My stereotype is the near 40 year old who is so immature she forgets she's not a millennial.

  10. Alivoo01

    wonderful olive / 19353 posts

@nana87: @lilyann: '85 here and 69% also. I might abuse some of the emojis, especially the crying so hard I'm laughing emoji... lol

  11. T-Mom

    honeydew / 7488 posts

I scored 14%. I felt strangely proud that I could actually score anything considering I was born in 77.

  12. nana87

    cantaloupe / 6171 posts

@Mrs. Pen: I thought the feminist question was weird too, and relatedly the one about sexual identity being fluid. Umm, I've taught Women's and Gender Studies courses, so that has nothing to do with generation and more to do with reading feminist theory--I'm pretty sure my 76 year old academic advisor would answer those the same way

  13. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

I got 14% but I am not a millennial. I was born in the mid 1970s and am solidly a Generation X-er.

  14. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@T-Mom: Me too We're old but 14% hip.

  15. arosebyany

    clementine / 955 posts

@Mrs. Pen: lmao!! I'm like, "well, Maryjane is pot, so who the F is Molly?!"

Also I would like to state that I wayyyyy over abuse emojis 😊😊😊. I like to get my point across with pictures hahaha.

Yes to fandoms, internship, Harry Potter, emojis, streaming everything, and feminism! I don't know why liking Shrek would be ironic?

  17. MrsSCB

    pomelo / 5257 posts

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: right? Sometimes I might like sauce better than the food it's on

  18. T-Mom

    honeydew / 7488 posts

@travellingbee: 14% hip, sounds about right

  19. birdofafeather

    pineapple / 12053 posts

69% but i'm pretty sure i answered in a serious, non-ironic way and missed anything funny about the questions! ha.

  20. JennyLayneAZ

    nectarine / 2690 posts

14%. lol I remember the first time I heard "emo" I had no clue what that was. I know that Molly is a drug, but I have no idea what it is really.

  21. Mrs. Pen

    blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts

@Adira: I'm fairly certain that with the way the quiz was set up, answering "yes" would score you higher as a millennial for each question.

  22. Periwinkle

    pear / 1879 posts

@pregnantbee: That was my exact thought when I took this!

Also at 14%. I blame that on the Netflix question because I do not consider myself a millennial at all!

  23. Andrea

GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts

Haha, not a millennial either but I'm also 14% hip. Maybe it was the Netflix question!

  24. Cherrybee

    papaya / 10570 posts

I got 23% but I didn't understand a fair few of the questions. Like who the fck is Molly and why would I have "done" her? (DH had to tell me what it was)

  25. youboots

    honeydew / 7622 posts

    @Cherrybee: it's nickname for MDMA.

    I scored 50%

  26. arosebyany

    clementine / 955 posts

@youboots: lol back in "my day" mdma was ecstasy

  27. LuLu Mom

    GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts

50% here, which I'm not really surprised about. I'm a Snapchatting/streaming/rap music listening lady But I started working fulltime at 21 and was on my own for everything, so although I relate to some, the entitled/laziness questions are the opposite of how I was raise!

  28. My Only Sunshine

    persimmon / 1129 posts

I weirdly got 50% but just taking the quiz made me feel 100 years old because I didn't know what half the things were.

I'm going to have to ask the 20-somethings in my office if they like Shrek ironically.

  29. IRunForFun

    pomelo / 5509 posts

I got 50% and was born in 1984. Add me to the list of people who don't understand how you could like Shrek ironically?

I think I got 50% because I binge watch shows, stream music, had an internship, and lived at home for a few months after I was 21.

  30. mrsrain

    nectarine / 2115 posts

    @Alivoo01: same here! 69%, 1985.

I self-identify as a millennial, and really hate how we are portrayed by media/other generations.

  31. Mrs. Lemon-Lime

    wonderful pea / 17279 posts

@winniebee: there's nothing wrong with binge watching TV shows- I mean it's a more effective than trying to remember what happened last week. That's so old school, lol. @MrsSCB: seriously though I order the taquitos at Chevy's just for the sauce. If 90's babies are the reason Tijuana Flats has the ultimate salsa bar I am here for it!

I was just discussing this with my siblings this weekend (we range from gen x to technically millennial but don't identify as such to definitely millennial). I really think millennial should refer to the cohort of digital natives, those who never experienced a time without the internet. Though I guess even amongst that group there's going to be a huge difference between kids that grew up with the internet but pre-social media and those that are currently growing up already immersed in it.

  33. daniellemybelle

    69%!

  34. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

@avivoca: I think the insinuation is if you do an internship you're privileged. But I think in many fields, that is just what is done! I hope I never have to do an unpaid internship again though LOL

  35. Mrs. Oatmeal

    blogger / honeydew / 7081 posts

23%. Born in '88, but notoriously uncool. So, yep, makes sense haha.
Why would I like Shrek semi-ironically? Binge-watching Netflix is the only way to go! And I mean...Harry Potter for life.

  36. Mrs. Sunshine

    hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts

@Mrs. Oatmeal: haha I think that's why my rating was low...I was born in 92 but I'm not cool. Like, at all. But I'm okay with that!

  37. Amorini

    persimmon / 1132 posts

At 40, I'm 23% hip... is that how we get to spin this if we're X-ers?

ETA: I can blame my husband for some of the things I answered yes to, and he's older than me!

  38. Anagram

    eggplant / 11716 posts

Odd quiz. I said no to Harry Potter, snap chat, Drake, and Rhianna. And somehow still got 69%? Must be all the sexting.

Also, I was born in 1980, so I'm pretty sure that's Gen Y. Or something.

  39. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@Amorini: ha ha yup. That's right. We're a little bit hip
