I've just started pumping here and there just to freeze a days worth or so of milk. I'm curious what portion sizes are best to freeze in. I don't really know how many oz LO takes at one feeding yet.

I'd freeze in six ounces or however big the bags are - you can always use less/split between feedings.

I always froze in 2 oz bags so that I had plenty of flexibility with how much to thaw.

I use simple lines freezer trays so they are all one oz sticks. It seems to be easier for caregivers to thaw that than having to pour the bags, and no waste.

I froze whatever I had. Some 5s, some 4s, some 3s, it was nice to have a lot of flexibility!

I just freeze in whatever portions I have, but typically never less than 2.5 oz.

Usually around 4 oz. Rarely more than that. Otherwise, I would have some 2 oz bags too.

1oz
I used ice cube trays which are about 1 oz each - was great because when I pumped I usually was low 1-2 oz so I could just throw a BM ice cube in the bottle the night before and it was defrosted by the morning
