What size clothing did your little one leave the hospital in? Also, how much did they weigh? I know it is going to be hard to predict but just curious!

0-3 for 7lb 10oz DD1, and it was comically huge. NB for DD2 who was 7lbs 12 oz.

NB and she was 8 lb 1.7 oz at birth. It seemed a little big on her (footed pjs).

Haven't had my LO yet, but I have packed both a newborn and 0-3 month going home outfit. We make big babies in my family!

@rachiecakes: did it fit him okay? going home outfits this time are from BG and they looked big, so I figured we'd be okay even if DS2 is another 8+ lber!

she was 8.4 when she was born, and I don't think she lost more then a lb when we left. She wore a newborn outfit.

I should've grabbed a newborn outfit. E was 8 lb 2 oz and 20" long and fit fine in newborn Carter's Jammies. T was 8 lb 7 oz and 21.25" long and was swimming in a 3 month onesie!

@mrsjyw: it fit perfectly, which means it didn't last long, but he wasn't swimming in it.

She was born 6 lbs 4 oz, went down to 6 lbs when we left and she wore NB and had plenty of room!

9 lb and 22.5" was in 0-3 for about 6 weeks. I had some NB sized clothes that he never wore just incase, which seams like a joke now at 3m he is in 6-12month cloths...

DS: 7 lb 7 oz, 21", went home in NB
DD: 7 lb 3 oz, 19", went home in preemie which she wore for at least the first 4 weeks.
ETA: I asked my midwife for size estimates and then got clothing based on that. I packed NB and a 0-3 mo, just in case. With DD my mom went out and got preemie after the outfits I packed were all huge on her.

Thanks ladies! I guess my sister was right when she suggested taking a preemie and newborn option. They just seem so small to this FTM.

Nb for my 7pound girl and my 9lb 4oz boy.
My son wore nb for a week, only because I had it. He really fit into 3month stuff right away. It was baggy but perfect lengthwise

Both my babies went home in the same nb outfit (footless sleeper and kimono onesie) and they were 8lb 9 and 9lb 12.

I brought a preemie, newborn and 0-3 with me. DD was born at 40+2 weeks, 7lbs even, left the hospital at a little less than that and wore the preemie PJ.

Newborn. The 0-3 stuff is normally huge on a newborn, especially since they lose weight after they're born anyway.

Newborn for both but I had a 0 to 3 month standby outfit just in case.
DD1 was 6 lbs 14 oz and DD2 was 7 lbs 4 oz

DS was 8lbs 5oz, 22inches and he wore a carter's footless sleeper and socks in NB size. Fit with a bit of room to spare.

My DS was 7lbs 11 oz but lost almost a pound while we were in the hospital. The newborn footie pajamas that we put him in seemed big!
