Our pedi wants us to start on diluted-cereal at 5 months and solids at 6 months. Other than a high chair, what do I need to buy to prepare?

Over the head bibs
Spoons

We started giving a sippy at 5 mo when we started solids. He just now (9 mo) drinks some from it but I would always offer it and let him play with it at meals

We have the munchkin spoons. So far we besides the highchair we haven't needed anything else. Well bibs, but she always has one on due to spit up. Once she starts getting picking up food herself, and feeding herself we are going to get the Ikea bibs since they are long sleeved. And a mat for under the high chair.

@rahlyrah: following this thread! We have the Oxo Sprout high chair. I bought R an Oxo Tot bib for Christmas because it has the food catch but I may need to break it out earlier: http://www.amazon.com/OXO-Tot-Roll-Bib-Green/dp/B00D3TPGB8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1382314769&sr=8-2&keywords=Oxo+bib

@rahlyrah: We've been through a lot of feeding "gear", and those were the ones that worked for us!
The non slip mats werent helpful at the start, but got more helpful as we went along and he started grabbing the bowls.
We skipped cereals here, and are now introducing them. If theres no medical reason for starting with cereals, you may want to do some research and see if you want to wait and start with fruits/veggies instead.
