i ask because ds (7.5 mths) is asleep 730 latest, occasionally 8 if we run home late from dinner at the ILs. i run my errands after ds goes down for the night, and with the sunsetting at 9pm, i see lots of families with their lil babes out and sometimes get jealous that we aren't out with the babe.
we won't stray from bedtime, esp since ds is such a good sleeper (sleeps 11/12 hours straight) and i don't want to mess with a good thing, but was wondering what other moms do--

I feel the same way sometimes. M is 9 months and is down by 7. It works for us and DH and I get some much needed downtime together in the evenings.

Ever since LO was about 4.5 months old, her bedtime was between 5:30-6pm. Now, at almost 2 years old, she is still going to bed by 6:15pm (at the latest!). People think I'm insane but whatever - she gets 12 solid hours of sleep so I am NOT about to change that!

My LO's bedtime was between 6-7 for the first year of his life. Now that he is 2, bedtime is more flexible. We aim to put him in bed by 8.

My 11 month old goes down at 9, and gets up for the day between 9:30-10 (and sometimes 10:30). We have it set this way so that DH can see him more (he works later in/later out hours), and so that I can spend time with DH when he gets home (as late as 1am) and not have to get up at the crack of dawn with E Eventually I'll have to move it back some, but for now it works.

Lol. My baby sleeps by 6 and my 3 year old by 7! They both sleep about 12 hours so I don't want to mess with it either!

At 5 months old, we start bedtime at 8, he's asleep between 8:30 and 9. I don't really want him to go to bed any earlier!

Between 7:15 and 8:00pm depending on how long her last nap was and how late in the day it was. She is 10 months old.

i worked so hard to get an 8pm bedtime! (used to be 9-10pm). now i can tell he is really ready to go sleep even earlier i am thinking about moving it to 7pm very gradually. but i never plan it on time to start his routine earlier. I would love it if he went to bed at 7pm, but i know when i go back to work full time in November i am going to miss him like crazy and i will only be home after 5, i don't think i will want him to go to bed before 8! I was thinking today that maybe i will compromise and get him asleep by 730 and see how he does with that.

We put her down at 720/730 depending on how long she nurses for. Then it takes her 5-20mins to fall asleep.

At 11 weeks she's going to bed pretty consistently at 10 and sleeping 11 hours with one wake up. We are really trying to get it earlier but she seems to have a mind of her own...

8:30/9 most nights, if he has a later nap sometimes that messes with bedtime. Yesterday he woke up from his nap at 4:30 and didn't go to bed until 10pm!
He never ever sleeps past 7:30am, usually wakes up at 6:30/7 no matter what time he goes to bed. That's so me.

DD use to go to sleep around 630-730 but we pushed it. Ack to 800-830 and its so much easier to get her to sleep. She wakes up around the same time but once in a while she sleeps in

My LO is 10 months and has recently pushed her bedtime to 7pm. It used to be 6:30 but she's been taking longer pm naps which in turn pushed back bedtime a little bit. She sleeps 11-12 hours so we don't mess with a good thing. It's also nice to have evenings to spend with DH

LO was going to bed between 6 and 630 for a while but since he turned 8 months, we pushed it back to between 7 and 730. I love him having an "earlier" bedtime--it means DH and I get some quiet time every evening!@autumn865: exactly!

Her bedtime used to be 630/730 for a really long time, but about a month ago we pushed it back to 730/830 depending on last nap. She's almost 8 months. She seems to sleep better and sleep in later with a later bedtime.

Lo is 9.5 months and is in bed between 7.30-8 usually. She sleeps through until 6.30-7. If her naps run late then her bedtime gets pushed back. This allows her to have her dinner with us and for dh to spend some time with her before she goes to bed.

Ours go to bed at 7 pm and 10 pm. Both are pretty inflexible about their bedtimes (the 10 pm is despite my attempts to move it forward!)

Since I stay home and my husband used to come home from work between 7:30 and 8 pm our boys have a later bed time around 9 or 9:30. At one point it was 10 pm. Yikes! My oldest (4) would sometimes stay up lying in his bed until 11pm. That was when I said no more. So I've been trying to get them in bed and sleeping by 9:30pm at the latest. Now that I'm doing this solo for a few months I do try to move things up so I can get more down time before bed time. My oldest usually wakes up around 7:30am and my youngest (15 months) around 8:30am. Works for me! Overall, they get enough sleep. If my oldest sleeps late I nap him the next day to make up for the loss hours.

About 8 but on the weekends she might stay up until 9 which is cool with me because then we all get to sleep in later in the mornings.
But during the week I dont keep her up b/c I have to wake her early to nurse and leave for work/daycare.
I definitely am not jealous seeing babies out late. I judge instead lol

We start bedtime routine at 7 PM with a bath, and DD is usually in bed around 7:30. She would be happy to stay up and party for a little longer, but we can tell she's pretty much exhausted by the time 7 rolls around.

9 months, 9 pm since 3.5 months. We tried to move it earlier but LO would just cry instead of falling asleep. It works out well for us since DH gets to spend time with LO in the evenings. I don't see how we could ever put LO down before 7:30 with our lifestyle.

@Rubies: My LO had a 5:30/6:00 bedtime forever...I miss it! She used to sleep 6:00pm to 7:00am up until about 15 months...
Now at 19 months her bedtime is 8:00pm. We start her bedtime routine no later than 7:30 and she's in bed by 8:00pm. She wakes up between 7:30am and 8:00am. Sometimes I think about waking her early to try and get her to a 7:00am to 7:00pm schedule, but for now the 8:00am to 8:00pm is working for us.

DS goes to bed around 8:00 each night at 22 months old. When he was closer to your LO's age, bedtime was at 7:00 and we rarely strayed from that. He's a little more flexible now but we still try to be home by bedtime.

Between 7:30 and 8:15. She's 18 months. It was 7:00 but once it started to stay lighter later, she's been pushing her bedtime to later.

LO is 5.5 months, and like @Rubies:, goes to bed between 5.30 and 6pm. part of this is because of our long commutes and having to start our day really early (and therefore ending it early). i definitely get pangs of self-doubt when i see parents out with their babies much later, but that's how things have worked out for us.

I've felt the same way before. When she was around 8 months her bedtime was 5:45. Then she moved to around 7 and now at 11.5 months she usually lays down at 7:30.
But a lot of people I know are out with their babies later than 7:30 and their kids don't go to bed until 9, 10, or 11. I get jealous that we can't go watch fireworks or go to some of the nighttime music events that we have here in the summer but I also don't want to mess with her sleep and I do value the alone time DH and I have. It also makes it easier when someone wants to watch her so that we can lay her down at 7:30 and then go get a late dinner or something and they don't have to worry about her bedtime routine.

Ever since sleep training at 6 months, he's down at 7pm and sleeping until 6-7am. I saw lots of babies out at a huge music festival DH and I went to. I kept on yelling in my head, get those babies to bed.
