Our dining area is carpeted, and this is proving to be quite a pain when it comes to the baby's mealtime. We have a highchair from IKEA, and I love that it is very easy to clean that. The carpet, however, is another story.

What do you use or do to protect your floors from the messes that accompany an enthusiastic little eater? So far, I have been putting down old towels or sheets, but I would love to find a creative solution that does not add to our laundry as much.
