I'm in the process of packing my hospital bag and wondering what you ladies recommend wearing home from the hospital? Right now I have a pair of yoga pants and some nursing tanks packed I could wear but any suggestions are welcome!

Yoga pants , tank and a sweat shirt ( I was freezing when I was pregnant ) Honestly, if I was giving birth in the summer again, I might do a really simple empire waist maxi dress. Less anything around my belly, I didn't have a c- section but my stomach felt very odd the day after I gave birth and I didn't like anything touching it.

Nursing top, cardigan, and loose fitting yoga pants. You won't want anything too tight!

I wore dark gray lounge pants and a black tshirt. Dark to hide any errant fluids and soft for comfort.

I wore a slightly above the knee maternity dress (with my big ole granny panties underneath). I was SO comfy because it was September in Southern California.

I wore sweat shorts and a tee with DS and yoga pants and nursing tank with dd

Black loose fitting yoga pants and a loose nursing tank and flip flops. (July baby). I preferred pants to a dress so they helped hold the pads in place, but I didn't have a csection.

Pack a maxi dress or something like it just in case! I ended up with an emergency c-section, and the thought of putting on the yoga pants I had packed made me want to cry - someone had to bring one of my dresses to the hospital.

I wore yoga pants, a nursing tank and a zip up hoodie. I'm glad I had pants on because everything underneath them was a mess as I would have felt uncomfortable in a dress
Eta mine were maternity yoga pants so they were very forgiving around the belly area

DD1 was born end of April and I left in yoga pants, nursing tank top and a cardigan. DD2 will be born end of August so I'll probably pack a maternity dress with easy nursing access. @cmomma17: haha good point. Maybe I should rethink my outfit for this time!

Leggings and a loose maternity top. My milk had come in the day we were discharged so my boobs hurt and I hated having anything pressed against them.

I wore a maxi skirt & my favorite v-neck maternity shirt...I wanted to feel pretty. I didnt, but I tried lol

Stretchy fold over maternity skirt and a nursing top with a nursing bra underneath… I knew my parents were going to take a lot of pics when we got home! I was super comfy, too!

Maternity mini-jean skirt and a flowy top with a nursing tank underneath.
I'm surprised by the # of people who wore yoga pants - I felt like yoga pants showed off my lovely bulky maternity pads too much, haha

I gave birth in November so I wore my black maternity pants with a sweater. The hardest part for me was shoes - my feet were so swollen and I couldn't fit into my shoes. I ended up wearing some sneakers with the laces all loosened. NOT CUTE

I wore yoga pants and a loss fitting non-maternity shirt under a cardigan. So didn't want to wear maternity cloths anymore!

I wore leggings and a long sleeve t shirt. We just had a 10min cab ride home, so it didn't really matter.

I wore a dress home. Didn't wanna deal with putting pants on over the mesh panties filled with postpartum goods down there.

I wore yoga pants, tank top and wrap. I had packed a cute maxi dress but right before I was discharged I found out dd would have to go to the nicu while I went home. I was a hormonal mess leaving without my baby and could have cared less what I was wearing at that point!

I feel like my entire mesh underwear, ice pack pad, tucks pads and giant diaper pad would've fallen out with a dress!! Geez, you guys wearing dresses are brave.
I wore maternity jeans and a nursing tank with a zip up sweatshirt.

The theme seems to be comfort!! I wore a pair of my panel maternity pants, a nursing tank, and a zipped jacket.
ETA: I had a c-section and my gigantic undies and panel pants were perfect...I hated anything hitting under my belly when I was pregnant and it served me well with the incision.

I wore a maxi dress. I felt like it hid the huge diaper pad ! Mesh undies better than yoga pants would have.

Maternity leggings and a long sleeved tunic top and TOMs. Edit: I had a sections, so I needed a loose shirt. I was a hormonal mess leaving my daughter in NICU.

The first time (dead of winter) I wore a sweatsuit and t shirt, and boots (fake uggs). The second time (dead of summer) I wore what I wore to the hospital 3 days before... a flowy maternity dress! and flip flops. Something to consider is that your feet may swell a ton if you're on an IV (I was both times) and I could barely get my size 9 fake uggs onto my feet (I normally wear a size 8!).

I would suggest the biggest/widest shoes you have. I had minimal swelling before but it took a while for me to be able to wear anything besides crocs (in my defense they are Mary Jane crocs so not too terrible looking!!), but I was also on my feet a lot going to see LO in the nicu.

Stretch jersey maxi skirt, nursing tank, long cardigan. I brought yoga pants with me too, but was more comfortable in a skirt.
