Did you LO start drinking out of open cups after straw cups?

Yes. With some overlap. I'd give an open cup at meals and a straw cup with water for random thirstiness.

Yep, she's starting to get really good at drinking from open cups... but she still drinks out of straw cups most of the time. She's 27 months old right now.

We started open cups really early at 6 months because she was refusing bottles. So I tried it at the same time as sippies and straws. She took to it really well in a few months and she's 21 months now and great with open cups. I don't give her much though or else she'll spill or play with it. But also only at meals since we're sitting down together. Straw cups for snacks and throughout the day.

After the straw cup, we gave LO open cups -- the small Duralex kind that she could wrap her hands around.
I noticed she didn't drink as much, so I gave her the bottom plastic straw from the sippy cup "loose" in the open cup a few times, and that really helped her fluid intake. Now she drinks as much from the open cup, but gets a sippy when I know she's going to be mobile.

We still use straw cups when he is in the car. We use open cups when at home.

Yep. She drinks from open cups and water bottles.. She's been drinking from cups for the last few months.
Still drinks from straws too. -
At 18 months we are doing a mix of both straw and open.. depending on how tolerant of mess I am at the time
