O had croup last week. She was up a lot at night, not sleeping well at all in her crib. We spent a lot of time with her in the bed or on the couch with us. During that time she basically stopped using her pacifier because she was so stuffed up she couldn't keep it in her mouth. I figured it was a good opportunity to wean, so I just haven't offered it again. Now she's feeling better, but is having trouble falling asleep anywhere other than my arms. Like she won't even fall asleep for DW. I don't have a problem rocking her to sleep, but she's nearly impossible to transfer. Before the croup she was going in her crib awake and would fall asleep on her own within 10-15 min with very little fussing. I did get her to do that yesterday for nap and bedtime but there was quite a bit more fussing than usual. Tonight she screamed when I put her in her crib. So here I am rocking her and writing this because I'm afraid to transfer her! This is affecting middle of the night wake ups too. She goes right back to sleep in my arms but then won't let me put her down. After two full weeks of croup with two sick babies, I really need some sleep!

So I guess my options are: tough it out and hope she figures out how to self soothe again quickly. Or give her back the pacifier now that she's not so stuffed up.
