What would you name a boy today?

Theodore or Henry. Little E was almost a Theodore.

  2. Running Elley

    coconut / 8681 posts

Everett!! I also always love Beckett.

  3. wonderstruck

    pomegranate / 3791 posts

Declan! I also love the name Benjamin, but DH does not, and this is not just a hypothetical question for me since I'm actually having another boy in October, haha. And in the past, with my first son, my answer to this question...well, I'm really hesitant to put their names together in a non-gold thread, I try to avoid being Google-able, but it starts with an L...think Walk to Remember.

    persimmon / 1343 posts

Most likely Eoin which was our boy name when I was pg with my daughter. But now I'm not sure! I also like Vaughn, Harvey (vetoed by dh), and Layton (don't want another L name since my dd is an L name too)

We have the best boy names for our son and our cat (Tor and Brock) it's going to be very hard to match them if we get anther boy. These have already been vetoed by my husband:

    Rocco
    Rutger
    Keith
    Calvin
    Maximilian
    Blaise
    Kyle

@wonderstruck: I looooove your Walk to Remember L name!! I tried to talk DH into loving it when we were naming DS!

  8. wonderstruck

    pomegranate / 3791 posts

@Running Elley: Aw, thanks! Luckily I had an easy time with that one, as soon as I suggested it DH was on board. The second time around has not been that easy! DH really doesn't like it though when people ask, "Like from A Walk to Remember?" about L's name and I say yes. He says it's embarrassing and I need to just tell them we just saw it in a baby name book, haha!

@grizz: I like Levi! Seth or Rory would be at the top of our list.

Emmett or he would be named after FIL, who passed away a few years ago.

    nectarine / 2028 posts

@Corduroy: that's my dog's name, and I love it! We named him after Roscoe Village, a neighborhood in Chicago where we lived. Just wanted to share

Ugh, I have no ideas. I had a dozen girl names picked out, and one or two boy names. Yet I am naming a boy, so....my husband keeps saying (like, 3 times a day) "I like the name Jack." So do I, babe, but it's overused!!! The next 6 months will be quite a name-battle, I imagine!

  17. illumina

    pomelo / 5469 posts

@redsmarties: I love Sawyer, just don't think it would go with our last name

Dylan or Oscar are still our top picks.

  18. MrsKRB

    nectarine / 2465 posts

    @wonderstruck: I like your 'L' name too!
I like Colin, but dh does not want a son named after him! I also like Connor, Caleb and Charlie (no idea why I like all C names!)

  19. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

Ugh we're no where near ready w/ boy names. I'm inclined to name him Elias, and DH likes Asher but I don't want Ash to be his nickname!

Boys names are hard. I think we have thought about the following when we were Team Green:

    Davis
Jackson (a family name for DH, which I resisted)
    Colin
    Rhys
    Grant
    Dylan

  21. LuLu Mom

    GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts

Nolan, Grant, Hudson, Kellen, Brady, Brody, and I'm loving Levi right now.

  22. Boheme

@Kemma: @LuLu Mom: Levi is SO cute! I know if we ever have another my mom will try to shoot it down because she worked for a judge named Levi, but I love it so much.

  23. wonderstruck

@ChiCalGoBee: My DH and I had the same debate about the name Zachary - I tossed it out there and he really liked it, but I felt like it was too popular - I've worked with at least 6 guys named Zach! But even after I said no to it every conversation he would say he liked Zachary. Eventually I just start saying, "And I still really like the name Benjamin! But you don't like Benjamin and I don't like Zachary, so move on." That seemed to finally get it to start sinking in.

I love the name Jude, but our last name starts with a B, so it doesn't work.

I like the name Evan, but DH doesn't like it.

  25. cmomma17

    honeydew / 7811 posts

@Applesandbananas: I love the name Cameron! That's my nephew

Today I think I would pick Holden. It was on our list for LO #1.

  26. dagret

    grapefruit / 4235 posts

Landry or Lennox. I like Lyndon but I think DH would veto it.

  27. 78h2o

Andrew Edgar (mn after my gf)

    Also like:
    William
    Conner
    Jake
    Brent
    Trent
    Tate
    Xavier
    Everett
    Emmett

    Dylan

Just because that was #2 in DS' name list.

  30. cranberry

My DH's favorite is Max. I don't have a favorite boy name right now.

  31. tororojo

    grapefruit / 4669 posts

DH and I can agree on Otis at the moment, but Miles is my fav!

  32. Meridian

    pomegranate / 3716 posts

We're having a hard time with this! DH has a weird last name and nothing goes with it.

We both currently like Sebastian, but it's a long name and I can't think of a good nickname. The only corresponding nickname I've heard is "Bash", and I'm not a fan of that one...

I like Jackson and Grayson, but he has vetoed those. He likes Brandon and I've nixed that.

  33. BananaPancakes

    grapefruit / 4817 posts

    @Seattlemom: I totally dig Odin.

And I've been loving Winston and August lately.

  34. heartonastring

    Theodore or Sebastian

  35. jedeve

@lovehoneybee: I tried to convince DH that Leo would be a good name, after Leo McGarry. It didn't work though!

  36. IRunForFun

    pomelo / 5509 posts

    Callum.

    DH would pick Malcolm.

  37. sheskrafty

    persimmon / 1165 posts

Dean or Wyatt. Dean would've been the name of our first child if it had been a boy but DH is over that name now

  38. Chillybear

    pomegranate / 3032 posts

@Meridian: My coworkers husband is name Sebastian I love it! I've heard the nickname Zeb/Zebby used for him.

Our pick was William Thomas nn Liam - Hubs Grandfather/my grandfather and brother

Still holding onto that one for next time

  39. lady grey

    pear / 1696 posts

@BananaPancakes: Thanks! I love it too, but DH doesn't. He doesn't think we should use it since we aren't Scandinavian, but I don't think that really matters.

  40. thisisme

    So many great names!

Right now, I'd pick Harry James. Maybe Henry James. But baby's last name will be Jones, so I'm not sure if I like James right next to Jones...
