After the swaddle, we tried the zippedee zip and I didn't get all of the hype. LO could still move around like crazy and was just annoyed that he couldn't access his hands/ properly grab his binky. So, we just put him in a plain zippered sleep sack.
Why do people love the zippadee zip so much?

I don't think it's a big deal, just baby preferences.
As a baby, I HATED being confined. Even to this day, I hate being "tucked" into my blankets. Some babies just like the comfort of being covered but allowed some movement.
My goddaughter has a ZipadeeZip and she loves it. Swaddling didn't so much for her.

K didn't like it. She needed something more, so we loved the merlin magic sleepsuit. Thankfully we didn't buy the zip; we got them from my friend.

No idea, but it saved sleep for us after the swaddle. The Merlin didn't work and regular sacks didn't do it either!

We didn't use zipadee zip as a transition from the swaddle. We used the merlin's sleep suit.
Now that DS is starting to roll to his side in the merlin's sleep suit, we are now using the zipadee zip. We love it because DS likes to scratch his face and head. We do use mittens and socks but he can take those off. The zipadee zip works great.
DD might not need it because she doesn't scratch her face.
Since it is pretty pricey, I do try to get it used.

We love them! For K, it was initially because it provided just enough resistance that she didn't startle awake. Once she was bigger, we just really like that their arms and hands are covered and cozy.

we didn't use them. we used halo sleep sacks with her arms out, or just other sleep sacks, before transitioning to no sleep sack at all

@winniebee: this was us. My husband laughed when it arrived and called me a sucker. She still moved around plenty and didn't like having her hands away. She still mouthed on them, so the wet fabric grossed me out.
