Until I find a full time job I'm home with DD 2 24/7.
Dd 1 is in daycare Tuesday and Thursday to hold her spot. Wednesday and Friday my ILs take her from about 11:30 - 5:00 to give me some relief. Then she's home with me the rest of the time.

I work part-time at home so a babysitter comes 12-15 hours a week while I hide in the bedroom.

@teawithpaloma: does your LO come find you? Do you find the babysitter to be cheaper than daycare?

@regberadaisy: She's only 8 months so she doesn't know I am here. We have to do the transition outside (and then I come in later) or post-nap or else there is a screaming fit. I work myself so I don't have an employer giving me set hours. I end up paying $15 an hour but I haven't found a daycare that would take her part-time in walking distance of our home. If we a) get another car; b) I can forsee business at X level for 12 months; and c) find a part-time place then I would LOVE to have a daycare option.

DS is starting preschool next month! I'm a bit terrified, but I think it'll be really good for him. He'll go two days 8:45-11:45. I'll use one for work and the other for house work, volunteer work, etc. I'm sure those 3 hours will fly!
Otherwise, I job share with my mom, so it varies depending on who has more to get done, but if I'm working, my mom is with him. The one preschool day will allow us to work at the same time, which so far has been a challenge.

Grandma-care before and after daycare on Tues/Thurs (daycare tues/thurs 9-5) while I'm in school. I'm home with her the other weekdays. A couple of my mom friends and I recently started a childcare co-op, so I use that a few hours a week to get homework done.
