I was wondering this too. I have a friend that started at 6 months but I planned to ask at our 6 month appointment anyway.

Depends on whether there is a history of egg allergies in your family. If there are, then I would wait until a year. But if not - I started giving them to LO around 7 months.

We don't have a history of allergies, so we got the ok at 6 months. He did have a problem with the texture and spit them up for a while until he got better at chewing a couple of months later.

Thanks everyone! We don't have any history of food allergies in our family. LO is 7.5 months. Maybe I'll give her some egg yolk soon!

I gave them from the start at 6 months, and she still hates them. Such a bummer.

@plantains: haha ew!! nope. My sister started spoon feeding yolks, but I just scramble them and he can mash them with his gums.

LO started eating yolks at 8 months and scrambled eggs around 10 months. She eats egg whites now at almost 12 months!

We waited until around 10 months. If we're making them for DS, we just scramble them. He's also had a few bites of our fried eggs.
