We were out at Denny's last night and LO drank some of my water out of the straw, just a regular throw away straw! She's 6 months old.
How old was your LO when they first drank from a straw?

She still doesn't at 9 months! We tried around 6-7 months but weren't very successful. She won't take a spout silly either. Oh well.

At five months LO stole a sip of my diet coke. It never occurred to me that she'd know what to do with the straw. Sure enough there was soda dribbling off her chin.

Still working on it at almost 7 months. Tried the playtex straw cup you can squeeze, as well as the take and toss. No dice!
Any suggestions?

M is 8.5 months and she drinks out of a straw sippy. I haven't let her drink out a "real" straw on purpose, but if I'm holding a drink with one she'll try to get her mouth on it. I have to be careful!
