So I think we might be a little bit off from this yet, but I just have no clue what is normal.
My LO is 4 weeks old and we have a very established routine with her that has worked for us since week 2. We take her upstairs to our bedroom at 9pm, I breastfeed her and swaddle her and put her to bed about 10pm (in our room) and we go to bed. Then I wake her up to eat at 2am (at her 2 week appointment doc said she can go 5 hours between eating overnight), and she is almost always super sleepy at that point. Then put her back down and she usually sleeps until 5:30 or 6 before waking me up to feed again (I have an alarm set for 7 but she has never made it that long). Then sometimes she will go back down, and sometimes not.
So basically she is sort of a rock star at night and I'm not sure when we should try moving bed time back earlier? And how early? I know most people seem to put their kids down a lot earlier than 10.
Also, at what point did you stop waking to feed at night? I feel like if I didn't wake her she should probably give me a 5-6 hour stretch at the first part of the night, which would be nice Although I don't know if I put her to bed earlier if she'd then be up for the day a lot earlier. I guess it will be a bit of trial and error!
Still, I'd love to hear what other people did.
