We ended up with a queen Big Girl Bed for my LO, it's a long story, but we transitioned her a couple of weeks after her 2nd birthday and she has done totally fantastic. We bought the foam bumpers for the edge of the bed that stick to the mattress and that keeps her safe bc she is a wild sleeper. She sleeps on a pillow and with her blankie and an Elsa doll, and she stays in bed all night until she wakes up, opens the door, and thunders through the house to find us:) It has been waaaay easier than I expected.
We would have stayed in the crib longer but we were planning on moving her in the next few months bc we need the crib for LO2 in the end of April. But the set I wanted for her went on sale for Black Friday so we went ahead and bit the bullet.

DD climbed out of her crib and into the daybed in her room at 19 months. She likes to make these transitions on her own watch, even if her mom isn't ready. It's was far easier than I thought. Saved me from buying a second crib so that's cool.

We've always had a king single bed in LO's room and it was where we co-slept and napped some of the time but when A was just over two she just randomly decided she was ready to move out of the cot. The transition has been really smooth so I've been pleasantly surprised

At 2, we moved to a twin when we moved back to the US. Rather than wait for her crib to come, we just took the plunge and went and got my twin bed from my parents. We use a rail along the one side and it's against the wall.
It actually was less painful than I thought. She sleeps better now.

We did a latex mattress on the floor at 14 months. Around 12 months she refused her crib so we coslept a little. I couldn't do that for too long! It was out of necessity. So, at 14 months we got her two organic latex twin mattresses- both 2 inches thick, a firm and a soft and kid got a great bed. It has worked out really well. She just turned 19 months.

26 months for both kids. for charlie it was a disaster with pretty much a year of bedtime battles after that.
with olive we didn't need to make the switch like we did with him (wouldn't stop climbing out), so it was easier. but the crib was easiest!

8 months. One of the best parenting choices we ever made. There was zero drama, and absolutely zero hassle. She just slept. I feel really thrilled to have avoided the whole crib transition/toddler bed hassle.

18 months and it was ridiculously easy. I truly thought it would be a battle, but it never happened!

19 months-super easy because we wanted a few months before baby brother took over the crib.
16 months-nightmare because we moved and didn't want to move the crib. Took months and months for him to sleep the whole night in his bed but I don't know what to attribute to the crib and what part to the move.

We're having this dilemma with E right now. She is so close to climbing out of her cot! Trouble is, we can't fit a toddler bed into her nursery so we would need to make the move to "big girl room" at the same time (which is a problem because currently the "big girl room" houses our wardrobe, all our clothes and shoes, craft supplies and hundreds of books!!

22 months so we could use the crib for LO #2. It went way better than I rcpected! No real hardships.

33 months, but he had been sleeping perfectly in his crib starting at 12 months, and never ever tried to climb out. We transitioned to a twin 3 months before LO2 was due. It was totally fine. Our twin is really low to the ground so we didn't put rails on it. The first week I kept his crib mattress on the floor right next to the bed and he fell out once, but otherwise it went just fine!
