When did you start giving WCM? R is 11 months and EBF - but I'm trying to ditch some feedings and offer sippy instead at meals. I have some frozen breastmilk but not that much and have tried giving him WCM in a sippy and he doesn't seem to like it much. I'd rather not introduce formula now (not because I'm opposed, but because of just introducing something totally new when he *should* move to WCM in a month anyways).

Two weeks before LO's 1st birthday I was out of freezer stash and was not quite pumping enough for the next day's bottles so I started topping off her bottles with WCM. We then slowly increased the percentage of WCM to BM from there and she was fully transitioned about a month later.

I started around 10 months gradually. I was drying up because of pregnancy and she hated formula. She's 100% on cows milk at almost 1.

@BandDmommy: ditto. Except nine months. I waited until 12 months with my first.

We switched cold turkey 100% for both boys at 12 months, but I have friends who have begun introducing it from as early as 9-10 months. Seems as though it worked fine for them:).

I started introducing it and mixing BM with but at 11 months, but she refused it. Over the next month, I ran out of frozen milk and I wasn't pumping enough, so I had no choice but to put her on formula. At 13 months, she was sick, and I handed her a cup of straight cow's milk. She drank the whole thing and from that day, never turned down a cup of milk.

10 months (he wouldn't drink formula by then anyway).

We first tried at 12 months, but she wanted nothing to do with it until closer to 14 months. I want to say we mixed it with formula or breastmilk at first. When we did only WCM, we still had to warm it up for a few weeks before she finally started taking it cold.

After DS turned one, I stopped pumping and used up all of frozen supply. Once that was gone, he switch to WCM. It was probably close to 13 months.

We tried WCM out at about 11.5 months. I wanted to see how it went before I was out of frozen breast milk. She actually didn't drink it well out of a sippy - her intake got a lot better when I tried the weighted straw cup (now I can't get her to slow down!)

I started mixing wcm into pumped milk at 11 months, which is when I got my cycle back and my supply struggled a bit. Then, I got pregnant that cycle and started drying up and LO became less interested in nursing. I started with 1/4 wcm, then went to 1/2, 3/4, etc. By the time he turned one, he was on 100% cows milk in sippy cups and nursing only a couple times a day.

I also started mixing it right around his first birthday (in our case, with formula). He did great with this method. I had previously tried wcm alone, but he wouldn't take it. When I mixed it in slowly, increasing the amount every few days, he did great! (Of course, now at 18 months he will not drink milk at all, but that's another story!)

10 months when I went back to work. She loved it.

When she self-weaned at 14 months. We started with toddler formula (with which we had already been supplementing) and slowly transition to wcm.

We tried mixing milk at 11.5 months but he got terrible runs and diaper rash. So at that point we moved totally to straw cups except for a 2oz morning snack bottle while we fixed breakfast and did toddler formula. The 2nd week after he turned one we mixed 50/50 with formula for about a week and then by 13 months he was totally on milk and has been fine.

around 13 or 14 months i think? sometime after i went back to work and didn't want to keep pumping at lunch and i figured he be ok with the switch and he was.

WCM around 14 months, but my LO was MSPI so we waited longer than most. We gave her hemp milk around 11.5 months (at first mixed with BM), then over the next few months introduced coconut milk, WCM, and almond milk.

Right about 1. Lo was combo-fed so we switched to wcm when the formula ran out
Still nursing as well though at 19 months, and dropped bottles of wcm at 17 months

Around 11 months. He was used to a bottle of pumped milk before bed but my supply was sipping so I started mixing the bottle with WCM and then by 12 months it was totally WCM in the bottle. Here (Canada) the recommendation is that it can be started at 9 months.

Around 11 months - our Ped recommended doing it a few weeks before our 1 year appt so we could discuss if she had any reactions.
Still nursing as well though at 19 months, and dropped bottles of wcm at 17 months
