Wondering when everyone started their LO on solids. Did you get your ped's OK first?

I started giving LO a taste of banana here, or a bit of applesauce there when LO was 5.5 months. I kept it to a minimum until LO's 6-months appointment. Then when we got the OK, I went full force.

My ped said we could give LO cereal at 4 months, but she hated it. Waited until she was around 5 months and gave her sweet potatoes.

5 months. I tried to wait until six, but he wanted it sooo badly. Once I gave him a taste of food, he was hooked! At 6 months he already eats SO MUCH.

With my first LO, we got the go ahead at four months. I was so excited to start the next step with her, we started right away. However, with my second LO, I did more research. I got the go ahead from the doc, but waited until five months. He got a little constipated, and we quit until he was much closer to six months. At his six month visit, the doc said I needed to feed him more! She said he should be getting at least two meals a day, so eventually he isn't getting so much liquid.

We got the ok at our 4 month appointment, but didn't get around to it until 5 months.

Our Dr said to wait until 6 months, which is what we wanted to do anyway. Really, they are just fine on milk, even past 6 months.

Our doctor said we could start anytime between 4-6 months, whenever I feel like he is ready. He is 4 months 1 week and definitely not ready yet IMO.

We tried puréed at 6 months but she wasn't a fan. So at 6.5 months we tried again and she still didn't like it, so we tried baby led weaning (skipped purees) the next day and she took right to it. So 6.5 months for us

I feel like we will wait til 5 or 6 months. T is 3.5 months and he doesn't seem anywhere near ready yet. Will ask at is 4 month visit in a few wks. I did let him taste strawberry juices and he seemed surprised and like he liked it!
