LO is 10 months and not ready for her own meal from a child's menu, but I have a feeling it'll come sooner than I thought. She eats a lot!

I can't imagine LO eating real adult food! Time is passing by too quickly~!

@Rubies: What does your LO eat now? I always just tear up some of what I'm eating. So much easier than purees!

We don't usually order off the children's menu. It's always the same unhealthy food: french fries, chicken fingers, hot dogs. We order a little extra food and give her some of ours off the regular menu. We started to do that around 1 year.

@Andrea: love that idea. Especially since that way ill get more variety if we order more food ... I can never decide between everything!

I usually feed her whatever I order. ProbAbly won't order her her own stuff until she's a bit older

We usually bring her food because she is still transitioning into "real" food, but I feed her off my plate usually & plan to keep ordering off the regular menu because I don't want her becoming picky & only eating chicken nuggets & mac n cheese!

@artbee: yeah, and kids can be picky, too, so the more variety the better. plus, the more food the better for us!

@artbee: She's eating chunky porridge and she'll eat pieces of steamed fruits and veggies. But she only has two bottom teeth so I'm hesitant to give her anything that requires a lot of chewing...

@Rubies: my lo also just has two teeth, I just make sure the pieces are tiny and so far so good.

LO is 13.5 months old and I just started ordering something for him...usually it's buttered noodles with fruit or mac and cheese with fruit. He is a good eater but has yet to finish those meals in full so I just take them home and give it to him at the next mealtime. I think I could have held off on doing that so the next time we are out to eat, I'll just order something for myself that he can also eat and we'll do that until he's eating more.

@artbee: Maybe I should be more adventurous. Gotta live a little, right?

My babe is 17 months and about two months ago we ordered him his first kid's meal. It was great because even though he ate like 1/5 of it, it kept him nice and distracted and we didn't have to keep giving him bites.
Usually, we still give him some of ours but it's nice once in awhile. Sometimes I am too greedy with my own food and I don't want to share!!

We started ordering kids' meals for Wagon Jr. around 13 months. He's always eaten a lot!! These days we order him mac and cheese or a hot dog or cheese pizza. We always offer him some of whatever we're eating, too. He's been starting to eat chicken nuggets too, but sometimes that's a battle.

@Rubies: my doctor said to try it and if she gags just stop and wait a few weeks. She ended up doing fine though.
