My milk just came in yesterday, and breastfeeding is going well... but I want to start pumping soon too in order to stock up for when I have to go back to work.
When did you start pumping?

I was told to wait until 4-6wks til breastfeeding was established, and to prevent creating an oversupply. However, if you need to build a stash, then an oversupply might not be so terrible? At least for a while?

At the hospital on day 2. I started pumping at home the day my milk came in on day 9 PP.

I started pumping 3 days after DS' arrival because my milk wasn't in yet and the LC I met with suggested pumping to try and help it out; it still took 10 days which is odd since DS was my second child.

I'm also curious about this! I would think an oversupply would be a good thing, too! Especially if the goal is more milk to freeze

I started around 4 weeks so that we could introduce the bottle and maybe start a freezer stash.
