At what age did you stop feeding on demand?
How did this change impact your child's sleep schedule?
Does your child's feeding schedule drive his/her sleep schedule?

It was closer to 11 months with DS. I knew I was going to wean by 13 months, so I started dropping feeds here and there. It didn't really impact his sleep because he was a crappy sleeper in any case. We did nurse a lot to sleep though. Two weeks before we were completely weaned, he finally started STRN.

I'm still feeding on demand at 8.5 months. This thread may give you some idea as well: http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/when-did-you-stop-feeding-on-demand

The twins are 23 months - they demand and I give in when we are home. When out I can sometimes re-direct them to other activities, sometimes I can't. Between 21.5 months and last week they both started to sleep through the night. I firmly believe that sleep is developmental and they will do it when they are ready. They both slowly weaned themselves throughout the night. It was one feeding at a time.

We still essentially feed on demand at one year, when I'm not at work. I did push her night feed to later (post 1 am ideally) with a little sleep training. I always thought we'd end up on a feeding schedule but we just never got there.

We are at almost 14 months and on demand unless I don't feel like it and I say no. I think I'm going to night wean soon though.

Still feeding on demand at almost twenty months but LO routined herself onto a loose schedule at six or so months.

@jetsa: Ooops! Thanks, sorry I missed that! I am still interested in the relationship (or lack thereof) with sleep though.
Thanks to everyone who has replied so far.

I never really stopped until we weaned at 15 months. I just let him have it whenever he wanted.

I would say they nursed on demand until they weaned - which was 20 and 15 months for DS and DD.
Both started STTN around 12 months.

Until he weaned at 15 months. He had fairly predicable night wakings for feedings, and slowly started dropping them on his own.

Both LOs put themselves on schedules fairly early on. It wasn't so much that I stopped feeding on demand, it was just that they fell into very predictable patterns around 3 months for DD1 and 2 months for DD2. If they're hungry or upset outside of their normal feeding times, I will certainly feed them, but for the most part, they follow(ed) a predictable pattern of feeding every X hours.
DD1 slept 12 hours through the night around 2.5 months, and DD2 started sleeping 11 hours through the night around 8-9 weeks.

I fed on demand until I night weaned him at 16 months, but I still nursed on demand until he fully weaned during my pregnancy at 21 months.

I weaned of one of his night time feeds at 8 or 9 months. That was hellish for 2 weeks or so though... Other than that he was fed on demand but he put himself on a schedule and stuck to it pretty consistently.
