My youngest is 2.5 and while he sometimes would love to not sit in his high chair, we won't stay still at the table during a meal. So, for now we are still using our high chair.
How old was your LO when you stopped having them use the high chair?

We had a booster from the start and she decided she didn't want it at 3.5.

Ugh I hate our high chair and DS doesn't eat well there anymore at 18 months. Most meals he has sitting in his Pikolino Lil Reader chair at the coffee table and DH and I sit cross-legged on the floor. DS eats better when we all eat together and he doesn't like his high chair or booster seat.

Hahaha I just asked my DEC moms on FB about this
DD DR is 27 months and actually loves hers still so I might be getting another for DS 5 months

As a side note, we went to a play date at a friend's house and their 4 year old still used a high chair. That seemed really odd.

My kiddo is 19 months, and I'm guessing we'll switch to just a booster in the next 6 months. More and more, she wants to be a big kid and sit at the table instead of in her high chair. She doesn't fight it often yet, but I know it's coming.

DD is a little over two and has never complained about her high chair. It helps keep her focused on food and seems to keep the mess a bit more contained. We plan on using it until it becomes a fight.

@travellingbee: my four year old still uses a high chair.
We have Tripp Trapps so she's not using it with a tray or anything.

@oliviaoblivia: then really it's just a chair, though right? This was a full high chair.

@travellingbee: yeah. Just higher up and with a foot rest. C is 26 months and has been using hers as a higher chair for maybe ten months. A is 14 months and we took the baby set off a couple weeks ago.

2.5. And he's still happy to use it 90% of the time. I'll hold on to it as long as possible because I know in most ways it's easier. But some days I wish it was gone.

I think we dropped the tray and made it into the literal high chair around 2.5 for my now 5yo. But she was pretty calm at meal times and didn't really need it. My 2yo may have to stay in forever to contain him

DD is three in about a month and we just took the baby seat off our tripp trap last week (she's been sitting up to the table without a tray for quite a while though). I definitely miss her being contained for meals

Both my 4 year old and my 2 year old still sit in their TripTrap type chairs. We'll get another two for the twins in a couple of months.

My daughter will be 2.5 in a couple of weeks and she's been refusing to sit in the booster seat we have for her so we finally put it away this week. She's good at sitting at the table which she eats though, unlike my son, who used the booster until probably 3?

Pretty early, maybe around 2 or 2.5? It is so nice to be done with it! But my son really loves to eat so we don't have issues with him bolting from the table, even at restaurants. He's also really big for his age, so it's hard to get his shoes in and out of a standard restaurant high chair.

27 months and still in a high chair. She's a messy eater so we like to keep the mess contained! But she will switch to booster when her baby sister is ready for the high chair.

I think we switched around 20 months to the OXO Tot Perch seat (the version with straps). The mess is a lot less contained but DS enjoys sitting at the table. The straps are removable for when he doesn't need them anymore.

A little before 2 years. She sits at a stool at the island (it has a back) or at her little table. She still sits in a high chair at restaurants though.

She rejected the tray sometime after 18 months so we have just been scooting her up to the table since then. Every once in a while she refuses to get into the chair itself, so then we let her sit in a regular big people chair. She really isn't tall enough for that to work well but we insist that she sit in a real chair or high chair, so we don't slip into letting her run around while eating. If she got to make the rules, she would always eat sitting on DH's lap, but we've had to be firm about that.

@Boogs: we stopped using ours when our daughter was about 23 months.. she was ready to sit with us. So we got her this and we all love it! Fisher-Price Healthy Care Booster Seat, Green/Blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CSAWIOQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_QEx1ybY563EGJ

We have the Tripp Trapp too and just removed the harness and tray at 24 months.

At home he started rejecting it around 18 months. He prefers to sit at a barstool (with a back) at our kitchen counter. He only sits in his high chair if we are all eating together and it is something messy.

@CatchAFallingStar: We got one from a neighbor for free and use it at my inlaws, it's really nice to have!

Lo1 has been in an oxo high chair without the tray pushed up to the table 16-20 months and now sits on a booster. He's huge and sometimes sits in the babies high chair and it's silly how big he is in it. He only sorta sits at the table for meals....
