Hellobee Boards

My LO just turned 2 and was in a toddler bed for a couple months and we recently switched to a twin. We don't use rails. We put them on briefly but she just climbed over it and it seemed more dangerous than not. Her bed is low to the ground and the floor is carpeted. She hasn't had problems with falling out.

I haven't removed it for my 5 or almost 4 year old. I'm sure they would be fine without it.

My 20 month old has been sleeping on the bottom of her sister's bunk bed for a while, and she doesn't use one. I think she rolled off once, but it's carpeted, and pretty low, so it wasn't a big deal. If we had hard wood I'd probably put a thick rug underneath it.

We haven't taken it off of my 4.5 yo sons bed yet and we even rented one when we recently went on vacation. He tends to roll around a lot and I would be afraid he would fall off.

We have hardwood floors and no rug in the kids' room, so we still have the bedrail on my oldest girl's bed. She'll be 4 this summer. She rolls right to the edge so I'm kind of afraid to take it off.

I think it depends on your child. Are they a mover? Mine wasn't. She's been sleeping in a full since she was about 2.5 years old. She maybe fell off once.
