Very early, within weeks for both girls. I think we got lucky though.

By 4-ish months he was going 7pm to 4/5am. My ped at that point recommended weaning that last feeding and doing CIO. It was only 3 nights and then he was 7pm to 6/7am. Magical!!!

At 3 months DD would sleep 7:30 to 4am and then 4 to 6ish. At 4 months we weaned her off the 4am feeding and she started sleeping straight through.

@Jackiedavis87: Well I think the technical definition of "through the night" is like 5 straight hours. But DS slept from about 10 pm to 5 am without waking fairly consistently at 8 weeks. He was half formula fed at that time (fully formula fed now).

@Jackiedavis87: We finally got down to 1 wakeup at 9 months, but if you mean from bedtime to awake time, not until 14 months.

@macintosh: yea zero wake-ups.
@SweetiePie: that's awesome! My child doesn't cry though, he wakes up and within 2 seconds he screams at the top of his lungs until he's choking or a bottle is in his mouth, whichever is first lol.
@Meowkers: how exacly did you wean if you don't mind me asking?
@wrkbrk: I've always thought of STTN as 8hours. Wishful thinking I guess lol
@Tanjowen: so I only have 8 months to go! I think I can make it lol.

@Jackiedavis87: you could still at least try to wean night feedings and see what happens.
We just slowly reduced the amount in the bottle. So it started at 5oz and each night or two we dropped a half an ounce until he was basically only drinking an ounce. He never noticed it and went right back to sleep so that's how we knew he didn't "need" it. So maybe tonight try to give an ounce less and see if he notices? The knowing whether he needs it or not will help you decide what to do next.
Just what I would do But do what you are ok with.
I am high sleep needs so I wanted to do anything and everything I could to get back to a full night of sleep. But everyone is different.

Eight hour stretches by five weeks, no wake ups by three/four months. She is a unicorn sleeper though I know!

At 8 weeks, both were sleeping 5 hours between bottles. By 12 weeks, it was about 6 hours.

We combo fed my twins. My son sttn sporadically (a couple times a month?) from 15 months on, and started sttn consistently around 21 months. My daughter just started sttn consistently at 23 months.

E was 25 months when she first went 7-7 with no wake ups. She is almost three now and she still doesn't STTN consistently - its about 50/50 now.
My 8 week old consistently goes 5hrs between night feeds and sometimes goes up to 7, so I'm hopeful she will STTN earlier than her sister (perhaps even BEFORE her sister!).

@SweetiePie: that totally makes sense! I'm gonna try an ounce less tonight and see what happens!
@cookiemomster: lucky!!!

@SweetiePie: It's pretty amazing! I still feel like I have 2 years of sleep deprivation to catch up on, though!

@SweetiePie: We are doing this now. Down to 2 oz now. We go down an ounce every Friday so we can sleep in the next day if it doesn't go well.
@Jackiedavis87: The pediatrician said we could go down an ounce or give her plain water and drop that down an ounce. Some babies learn not to wake up with cold water than a comforting warm bottle.

#1 on and off from months (7-8 hours, and 10 or so at 4-5 months) but terrible regressions
#2 has sttn a few times at 8 months old but usually has a bottle in the motn. Solids don't seem to have made a difference.

@Ms. RV: we did this trick with water and I was amazed how well it worked with LO1.
LO2 has been exclusively formula fed since birth and started sleeping through the night about 7 weeks old.

8 weeks. then we hit the 4 mo regression and she didn't STTN more than one night in a row again until 14 mo. (She never wanted to eat overnight after 8 weeks though--- but that doesn't mean she didn't wake up!)
