J is two and counts, "1, 2, 1". It cracks us up! He hasn't learned anything beyond 2.
When did your LO learn to count?

When DS was around 2 he'd just say "2...2...2..." never 1 or any other number lol. I think he got better more towards 3.

C is 28 months and can count to 13. They started learning their numbers on school just before Christmas.
There's a leap pad show on Netflix that helps with numbers and counting. Those helped a lot!

She can count to 10. She is learning how to show the numbers with her fingers now, she can do 1-5 though has problems holding up 3 fingers.

My daughter can count to 3 by copycatting us, but I don't think she really understands the numbers yet. If I showed her two eggs or three buttons, I don't think she would be able to tell me how many there are. We've been working on fingers this week so she'll be able to hold up 2 fingers next month when she turns two. Right now she's really good at telling us she's one, with a single finger held up. Two fingers is much more challenging.

Interesting. LO is 25 months, and he is counting 1-10 perfectly in Cantonese (up to 25 with some errors), and 1-10 in English with errors (he goes one, two, three, seven, eight, nine, ten..., and just today I heard 3 finally was followed by 4 and 5).
@skibobrown: Ditto.... Sometimes I wonder if he knows what it all means...

Around 20 months she would recite numbers. We go to a music program on Wednesdays and the theme for one month was counting songs (counting with your fingers, objects, etc) and she really go into tying to hold up the number of fingers.
At her 2nd birthday she got the wooden numbers puzzle from Melissa and Doug and that night she would count off the numbers 1-20 and could identify them as you pointed to them randomly. I think it really helps to have a visual/physical representation of the number. She can count up to 39 but sometimes she says "twenty-nine; twenty-ten!" Instead of thirty...she gets it about half the time when counting. She can identify 3-0 as "thirty" though. She is 2 years 3 months. I would say just recently like in the last month she can hold up her fingers...three was very tough

She can count to 10. We go back and forth. I'll say a number then she says the next one. She kind of knows how many 2 is and holds up her thumb and index finger. She's 16 months.
