I mean sleeping straight from bedtime all the way to morning wakeup time. When did they start doing it on a consistent, reliable basis?

Hahhahah. Hahahhah. Do babies really do this?
Oh. Sorry, I must be sleep deprived. Mine is obviously no where close to that. He is 5months

@pastemoo: Willa has been getting up 4-5 times a night. last night, however, she got up at 10 and was awake for an hour. Then got up at 3 and was awake for an hour. Then got up for the day at 6. She isn't sleeping AT ALL! I am soooooo tirreedddddd.

we aren't there yet either, at 5 months. we were close, with only one 4 am wake up, and then teething happened. Now back nearly to square one. @rainbowsprinkles - hang in there!!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: Me too. Sorry I didn't mean to be rude. More.... maniacal from lack of sleep. G was up every 2 hours last night except he also got up at 4 5 6 and 6:15 for the day. Ugh!
At 3.5 months I thought we were good to go with 2 wakeups consistently/

We got lucky at eight weeks. I was going to tear my hair out before that...2-4 times a night.

For about a month from 8-12 weeks before her 3 month growth spurt and then not reliably again until she was 6 months old. It's been like the last 2 weeks.

I keep waiting for the 6 month point and tell myself that's when relief will come.... I'd be ecstatic with even two wake ups. I hope I'm not setting myself up for a huge disappointment.

She is about 3 1/2 months and has slept through 2 of the past 3 nights. For about a month before this she would wake up once or twice but if I gave her her binkie, she's go right back to sleep. If she kept spitting it out and waking herself up, I'd hold her for 10 minutes or so and then she'd be out until about 5 or so in the morning. She slept until 6:30 this morning - we are very lucky!!
It might be worth mentioning that we changed formulas this week to Similac for Spit Up. It has rice starch in it. Not only is she spitting up about 90% less than before, but I think this may what has helped her make it all the way through.

@autumnlove: 2 to 4? Oh man, I would love that right now! Hahaha

Not until he was a year old. He would tease us with a couple nights here, a couple nights there ... but he hung on to one waking/feeding for a long time.

@autumnlove: same! She only did 2 wake ups though. Dropped to one at 5 weeks. Hope baby sister is the same!

Like Mrs. Yoyo, my LO didn't start to sleep through the night until after he turned 1. My niece is a month old and already sleeping 6 hour stretches. So jealous!

Hmm she started sleeping pretty well and waking up only once or twice starting around 4 months...but then we hit six months and she was waking up every 3 hours! Now at 8 months she's sleeping very well again (usually from 7a-7p with one feeding around 4a) but who knows what next week will bring

@Andrea: @autumnlove: where did your babies come from?!?!
Well he was sleeping thru the night a couple times a week.
Between 6-7 months but when we moved it all changed. Although compared to you I suppose I cannot complain that he wakes 1-2 times a night. I'm tired but not exhausted.

@Coco Bee: I know right? Will be interesting to see what happens with our #2's. I am assuming the worst, for me anyway. Doubt I can get lucky twice with that.

We we're on a regular schedule of 7:30pm to 5:30am...until 2 weeks ago, she takes an hour to rock to sleep, and wakes every hour

Well, by 12 weeks she was doing about 8-7, right in time for me to go back to work. I thought I was the luckiest mom alive. Of course, in the last week or so I think the 4 month sleep regression has hit, so now we're at 2 or 3 wakeups a night.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: does your DH ever get up with her to help you out? My DH and I have to take turns who wakes up with baby, or else I wouldnt survive! Is she fussy when she wakes up or does she just want to play? I know how you feel my LO is 6 months and sleeps for 2 hours at a time. He will do a 4 hour stretch from midnight-4am then wants to be awake and play, not fussy at all. will go back to sleep about an hour later and is up for the day at 6 am!

@Coco Bee: I don't expect to get lucky with #2! I have to start reading the sleep books I downloaded after the first month!

@mrsaudi: nope, he hasn't gotten up with her since she was 6 weeks old! I am TIRED.....

Our LO started sleeping through the night at 4 months. He goes to bed at 8 pm and we wake him up at 6 am for daycare on the weekends he sleeps to 7:30 am.
