DS is 8 months and he's on 2 meals a day, but I'm wondering when to increase to 3. When did you? Multiple votes allowed for multiple LOs

@kitty: you didn't enable multiple votes!
With DD1 it was around a year? DD2 earlier than a year? Maybe 10-11 months? She's a big girl! LOL

1 "meal" a day at 6 months, 2 meals at 7 months, 3 meals at 10 months. We started snacks at 8 or 9 months. Our LO has the biggest appetite, and daycare says he eats way more than any 12 mo she knows! We have no idea where he is hiding it, since he's pretty slim.

I think we started three meals around 12 months for LO1. LO2 started much sooner since we already had the routine established.

@regberadaisy: haha whoops! Thanks
@Astro Bee: I feel like DS has a pretty big appetite so that's why I'm kind of thinking whether he needs more meals or just more at each meal.
@yin: I find the routine to be a bit challenging, preparing food that he can eat.

@kitty: Yeah, it takes awhile to figure out things like that, and when to switch. We typically keep feeding him until he's full and starts pulling away or turning his head. We also started to notice that he seemed fussy/needy/cranky so when he started inhaling snacks like a feral child, we figured he definitely needed to start eating lunch in addition to breakfast and dinner.

Somewhere between 8 and 9 months we added that third meal (but milk first, then solids because she was still so young). We didn't start snacks until 11 months. I don't remember what we did with DD1.

I didn't vote b/c I don't know! I think around 9-10 months? Maybe earlier? She always had milk first but she'd always eat when we eat.
