It's so hard for me! I usually pump around 7am after I've fed him and put him back I his crib. I try to at night too but I hardly put anything out.

For a little while I was doing a pump in the middle of the night immediately after nightfeeding from one breast, I'd pump the other: not exactly convenient, but very productive.

I pump on the middle of the night after she feeds. She is the most sound asleep at this time and I have the most milk then too. I usually do one around 3am, and then one around 6 or 7am. I pump both sides even though she's eaten from one side. I still usually get 2-3 oz from that side.
I think of you consistently pump from both around this time you will produce more milk because I started only getting 2-3 oz total and now I get at least 6 if not more.

I only do it on an as needed basis so far. I'm also struggling with finding the time and motivation. So far I mostly do it when I'm feeling engorged or I know I might have to leave DS for a little while.

In the beginning she used to only nurse from one breast, so when I had time, I would just pump the other right after feeding.
Now that she takes both I usually try to before I go to bed. At that point she's down and it's been a few hours since I last nursed and (with any luck) will be another few before I nurse her again.

I pumped almost everytime she napped...that was almost 7-9 times a day the first month. I was exhausted but my supply was low and it needed the extra stimulation.

I feel like my supply is getting low & I don't have nearly enough to send to daycare. @autumnlove I will pump and not get anything and its so frustrating-how long did you pump that often with low supply?

@lydg: I think after 2 weeks of drinking gallons of water and supplements my supply went up! Good luck!
