Hubs drops her off at 8am and I pick up at 4:30. We shifted our schedules after she was born to allow for as short of a day at daycare as possible.

I drop off at 7:40ish and pick up at 3:10ish. Just depending on traffic. But there's an hour commute before and after that, and I'd prefer her being in daycare longer rather than sitting in a car longer, but it is what it is.

7:45/4:30 or so if DH is doing it; 7:45/5 or so if I'm doing it (working from home).

I drop off at 8 am. DH picks up at 4, usually.
If we have to switch for whatever reason DH drops off at 8:30 and I pick up at 4:45 or 5 depending on traffic.

I think I'm winning for longest stretch, but we have big commutes and it is what it is.
730am - 6 pm.

We can drop off as early as 7:30 but typically (on days without speech or violin) we get there at 9:15 or 9:30. Pick up is 5:30 pm

8:30/5:15 usually. Daycare is on my work campus, so that help a lot.

@CakeLady: Our is open 7am-630 pm, thank goodness, but I look forward to the day when all of our days aren't so long.

Drop off depends on DH's work schedule so anytime between 7-9:30. I usually pick up around 4:45-5.

6:30am drop off, we pick up between 5-6. I go back and forth about feeling awful with how long they are there, but in the end they are happy and doing well so I try not to beat myself up about it! Previously we had shorter hours but they were in the car an extra hour, I'd rather have them be playing than commuting.

9am/3pm. She goes to a part-time "Mommy's Day Out" program. I freelance part-time. They do offer before & after care 7am-5pm.

No wonder we can't get to bed as early as most people... last night we didn't even get home until 6:45 due to traffic!

7-5:30. The hours are 7-5:45. We're switching to a new daycare that's closer to the train and open longer (6:30-6) because it's too much of a strain and rush every day to get them there and home. We have long commutes and both work in the city full time... but after being a SAHM I think I am immune to the guilt. The kids love it there... they never want to leave!!

@mrs. wagon: DH is in charge of pick-up and he is commuting from the same city ;-)- and its sooooo stressful for him to get there!!
I drop off around 10 and DH picks up anywhere from 4:30-6:30 (depending on traffic!)

@regberadaisy: Typically 7pm, but last night it was more like 7:30. LO doesn't get in her crib until 9pm... I know its super late! And last night was especially bad--even though she was in her crib, she wouldn't settle down and kept asking for us until 10:30pm!!

Drop-off 6:50 am pick up 5:45. DH and I commute together and Daycare is near our home and my in-laws for emergencies.. It's a long day but with our commutes there's not much else we can do. If we tried to flex our schedules we'd be looking at least $400 in increased commuting costs.

@mrs. wagon: My DS begs me to leave him there until 6pm - when they close - so on Fridays I got to the gym from 4:30-5:30 and pick up at 5:45 - he reminds me its not 6 yet
eggplant / 11716 posts
@sunny: We get home way earlier and LO has a snack around 4:15.....so we also don't eat till 6:30-7. And that's still just me and LO--DH doesn't get home till 7:30-8pm, right in time to put LO to bed at 8. So it's not late to me!

@DillonLion: I don't understand how people can pick their kids up at 4pm...

@mediagirl: I commute and "if" traffic is really light I can sometimes get to daycare close to 4. I'm usually more like 430 but on occasion it can be 4. I leave at 6 am to be to work by 7, I leave work at 330.

@Ajsmommy: the shift schedule option blows my mind. I have never worked for a company that would allow you to make your own hours. My company used to let people work slightly earlier but then decided they want everyone here until 5pm. So...there's no getting out early to "beat the commute".
