I love the oxo sprout chair but not wanting to spend over $150. Which chair do you recommend?

I was going to say the same. I love love it. So easy to clean. Worth every single penny.

@Ash: I really liked that you could buy new pads for it. So if R ruins it, you don't have to buy a whole new chair for the next one.

@Ash: I wanted the Oxo, too, but DH was not on board at all! We went with the Mamas & Papas Pixi instead and I love it. The top actually looks really similar to the Oxo. It's not wood on bottom, but it folds up which has been awesome!

What about the Phil and Ted poppy high chair? I was obsessed with the oxo sprout until I saw the poppy. I have no experience with it tho

I have a booster that straps on to a regular chair. Can't remember what brand but I loved it when ds was little. LO will be using it too.

We just have a hook on chair because we have no table, just an island with counter. But we looked a ton and once you actually compare the oxo to the ones that are a little cheaper it starts to look like a better deal.
@MrsTal: I really liked the look of the Poppy but the legs had a really wide base- which is fine if you have a big kitchen, but we do not. Looked so easy to clean!

We had a graco high chair. It wasn't anything special and it got the job done.
It wasn't that fantastic to clean, though. In the summer we'd take it out on the deck and hose it off LOL it really was a bitch to clean.
So, don't get a graco.

We have always used a FP booster seat as a high chair (like @Dandelion: ). It's not fancy but it's super cheap, the easiest to clean and can travel with us. I wouldn't get anything else.

@Dandelion: @MrsF: The booster seats don't work with our table and chairs. We originally had one, so while they are great and cheap, they aren't always possible.

@Ash: check Craigslist or any local mommy group classifieds! I got our Boon flair high chair, with 8 extra dishwasher-safe trays for only $50 (and then I bought a gray chair pad because it came with the orange one, which I don't like).
Having said that, I'm meh about the Boon Flair now that I have it. I wish it had a recline option, so LO could practice with her sippy cup before/after dinner. She drinks better from it when she's reclined slightly.
One awesome thing about it is the wheels. I can put LO in it and wheel her around to different places in our house as I move around (while cooking dinner or doing something else).

We have a Peg Perrego. Its a much older model. Its nice and has held up REALLY well. LO still loves it even at age 2.5. But it is large and hard to clean.

@Foodnerd81: dh wants a hook on but I want a chair. Which do you have?
@lawbee11: I saw that one! Do you see a problem with it not reclining?
@Anagram: I was looking at the boon! I just don't think our CL will have anything decent. It's always full of crap.

IKEA Antilope...love it so far! Getting a second to use to my parent's house.

We have a Graco 3-in-1 and love it for our house! We've used it often wheeling DS around our ceramic floors.
Our parents each have a chicco one that they also love!
They are HUGE tho and take up space, we don't mind it, but I know that's a buzzkill for some!

@Ash: Nope! But we didn't start solids until 6 months and by then she could sit unassisted just fine.

@Ash: We have the Inglesina 2013 Fast Table Chair for traveling and restaurants and it works great!!

I have the IKEA one, too and love it. Very easy to clean and the $25 price tag didn't hurt

@Ash: kohl's has the oxo sprout and they usually have 20% off coupons/sales. That's how I was planning on justifying getting that one.

@illumina: @MrsRoo: @Sunshine710: no ikea and their shipping is brutal!
@lawbee11: well I guess the oxo one doesn't recline either.

@Ash: we have the chicco 360 hook on chair and I like it a lot but it has definite drawbacks. The best part for me, compared to other hook ons, is that it has a tray that snaps on firmly. We are doing blw so the tray was important, plus the way our counter is, other hook on chairs weren't totally flush with the edge and food would just fall straight down.
The drawbacks are pretty much all related to cleaning it- it's a fabric seat that is annoying (though not actually difficult) to take off to wash, and food gets stuck in the part that swivels. But of all the options out there I think it's the best one for us.
Oh and it definitely doesn't fold down as easily as other hook on travel chairs, but we didn't care since it's our primary.

We have a Chicco one. It's a bit bulky, but can fold up and stored away fairly easy.

We have an evenflow modtot. I really like it, we got it on sale so it was like between $50-$75 it is super easy to clean, and lo LOVES sitting in it.

We are going to use my wooden one that my parents still have. We have a FP booster seat too.

FP space saver. It's easy to clean, takes up no space, and is easy to take with us to family parties etc so he has somewhere to eat!! It's not fancy but it does the job. I also lovethat it's not noticeable in our house, you don't walk in and immediately see some huge highchair.

FP booster. We had an actual high chair, but hated how much space it took up and it was way too big for DD when she first started solids. LOVE the FP one, because it's easy to clean, it's portable and she can fully sit at the table with us.

The FP booster! For around $20 it has to be one of the best bargains yet!
