What are the best white noise machines and iPad/iPhone applications that have worked for you and your little one? We have a blue air air filter that has a nice hum and has worked for my daughter but clearly cant lug this with us wherever we go... Any suuggestions?

even on a plane! it's awesome. in fact we use it with our marpac white noise sound machine in olive's room because charlie is so loud!

We have the Marpac Sleepmate and I LOVE IT -- at least as an adult. No clue if it works for babies, but it does a fantastic job of drowning out Call of Duty at 11:00 PM. We did pack it in our luggage on a recent plane trip, and that wasn't a great ideas -- by the time we got home, it had devolved a rattle. Stick it in your carry-on if you're flying.

We do the same as @Mrs. Bee but we use the paid version of the same app. My DH finds the white noise too harsh so we use brown noise :).

Lol, we have that problem too. We use a big fan for white noise. Usually if we're staying somewhere like a hotel they come with their own fans that have white noise though.

We use a Graco sound machine at home. Wish it were louder though. When traveling we use Sleep Pillow app. The waves + white noise channel is the best.

We have the Ecotones sound machine.
Most low quality white noise machines drive me batty and keep me awake. This one is high quality and has really pleasing selections and customizability. There is no repeating which is great.

We just use a long white noise track from iTunes called Ocean Waves and play it on repeat. No app, just normal "music." Works like a charm.
