It's SO exciting to see so many BFPs in the infertility forum recently! Yay for all of you!
Thankfully, even for those people that struggle with infertility, it's usually resolved within a year or two. I just thought I'd see if there's anyone else out there with me who has been trying for more than 3 years? And see where you all are in the process? Hugs to you if you're with me on this. It's not a fun place to be, but I'm hoping there's hope for those of us who have been at this for so long.

This month is the 3 year mark for me. You aren't alone. I just had my second FET today. I feel like I'm reaching the end of my TTC journey. It's exhausting, which I'm sure you understand.

@mrs bunchy: Ugh! It stinks doesn't it? I am very, very grateful for Little P. But, since I've never been pregnant, there's never been a rest in the whole TTC thing, which is just really wearing me out. I'm sure you can 100% relate.

I'm right there with you-- over four years for us. Have been working with a fertility center for a year and a half and am in my third IVF cycle right now, with a five day transfer coming up on Friday. Fingers crossed for everyone!

Hugs to you ladies. I'm at 2 years 3 months but with 4 IUIs and 2 failed IVF cycles it feels like forever. I hope we all get our happy endings.

I don't know if I count. We started TTC in Nov 2011, but had a few stretches of TTC breaks. As for actually cycles of TTC, actively trying and having a TWW, I'm on cycle 23.
So I'm not sure, if I'm in the 3 year plus group. Am I? Do I count when I first started TTC or active TWW cycles. I kinda feel like I belong because I've been waiting almost 3 years. I was off BCP for a full year before starting TTC.
I do think telling people I started TTC in 11/2011 versus being on cycle 23, can give a different response. If you know what I mean.
ETA- Oh, even if I count all the months since I started TTC, I'm not at 3 years. 2.5 years.
Anyway, now that I think of it, I kinda know what it feels to wait over 2 years, but don't think I count as a 3 year-er.

I am just shy of 3 years. We will hit the 3 year mark in August. We are in the middle of our first IVF cycle right now. Our first visit to the RE was in May 2012 (I had already been diagnosed with PCOS). We have gone through 3 failed IUIs and really are crossing our fingers for IVF. The whole thing is exhausting.

@Mrs. Polish: I'm anxious to hear what your new Dr. says. We would love a new RE right now. I just think ours is a little too 'old school' for me. Sigh. It's hard to find the right fit of the people in your local area.
4 years is a long time.

@Mrs. Polish: Good luck with your new doctor! I just switched doctors because I had to. I don't love my new one, but she is the first doctor I've had that picked up on my thyroid issue, so it's probably a good thing! 4 years is a very long time One of my best friends just got pregnant after 4.5 years with her first IVF cycle (she got her beta drawn on Monday). I hope this new doctor has a good plan for you!

It is so hard when your RE options are limited. DH and I have very few options in our area, and the office we are going to is the best one around so we didn't have much choice. Is your RE conservative about what steps to take? Or just not up with the new technology?

Gotta add that I wish everyone luck and hope you guys get your BFP very soon. I definitely feel like you guys should get your BFP before I do. I wish life was fair like that.
Gotta admit that I don't want people to have IF but I wish that the people who have had IF for very long periods got their wish. Sorry, if that sounds horrible. I just want BFP for everyone!
Does anyone notice that if you had IF for one year that it's different from someone with 18 months or 24 months? I'm sure at my 23 months, that my responses to IF are different from someone who had had IF for 3, 5 or 7 years. I guess it's all realtive. I felt more senior when I had IF at 18 months versus someone who is at 12 months. I think it can be hard for me to connect with people who TTC for less than 6 months. Sucks that IF has done this to me.

@bluestriped bee: Yeah, I don't know about the body's different response to meds. Most of our TTC has been with naturopaths or acupuncturists, so I just don't know about that.
I think at the beginning it was nice to find others that were TTC, but since then it's hard to feel like the only one left sometimes when those who started with you have easily gotten pregnant twice. And even those with IF have had success twice! That's what hard for me. I even wonder why IF is so easy for some, but so hard for others.

i'm hitting 4 years in august, though i had a couple of stretches of breaks due to other things. it's an unexplained infertility as all of our tests came back normal if not superb. *sigh. it is hard seeing people who just got married (we've been married 6+ years) get pregnant right away when we've been waiting so long. i don't want to do IVF but i've tried clomid+IUI and herbal medicine with no success.

@everbee: OH man. That's a long time. And so hard to not have a diagnosis or a reason to point to! Do you have a plan for now? It's hard when there's no easy "fix". Sending you hugs!!

@Mrs. Pinata: no, no plan right now. i just went for my annual recently and completely broke down. my dr comes highly recommended by several friends who delivered with her, but she's not too personable and doesn't take notes. for some reason she hadn't removed from her notes that i got off bc (like 4 years ago) and was asking if i was still on it. when i said no she asked if we were using protection. when i said no... (and really confused at this point) she asked me if i wanted to take an hiv test. then i had to refill her in on everything (which i did two years ago and she referred me to a fertility clinic that i had no success with). it was a disaster. she felt bad and has a more natural fertility clinic in mind but didn't have info on it yet as it is brand new. other than that, i'm considering getting a pet...

@everbee: Ugh. I'm so sorry. Those moments are so awful and uncomfortable. My heart hurts for you. Although that newer fertility clinic sounds wonderful!
One thing we have considered for the future is embryo adoption. Hopefully you will have luck at the new fertility clinic, but if you're interested in it at all, please send me a wall message. After our next adoption (who knows when that will be!?) if we haven't gotten pregnant miraculously we will definitely pursue embryo adoption because I really want to experience pregnancy.

Hugs! Just wanted to say I've been there. Took us more than three years to get pregnant. Was so discouraging at times. I hope all of u have happy endings!

3 years this month since starting TTC. *But I had a few months early on where we took a break from TTC.
It still feels like I'm waiting for so long with so many months of disappointment.
