We'll have LO in daycare but beyond that, we don't really have any babysitters. I don't anticipate leaving LO for awhile, but someday we'll want a date night, maybe... lol.
Who is your go-to? How did you find them? And how did you get comfortable leaving LO with them?

My parents and sister are my go-to. This weekend though my 18 year old cousin watched LO and I was comfortable with that, since we are related and I know LO was safe. I worry about hiring someone I don't know, like a HS or college student...I will need to get over that someday I would think. I'd probably get recommendations from someone I knew.

We found a sitter on sittercity.com. She's fantastic! We don't have any family that lives near us and I feel bad asking friends to babysit.

So far only my mother has babysat for us, I know DH's parents want to but I don't feel comfortable (plus we live with them so they get to see her every day!) Next person I would trust is my sil.

I typically ask my sister first as she's much closer than either set of grandparents. If she's busy, then we have a local college grad student we use that we found on Care.com last fall. She has a lot of baby experience and we've felt really comfortable with her from the start.

I don't know what I'm going to do for a babysitter. Our parents and sibling all live out of the state or out of the country, and we don't have many friends in the area since we haven't been here long.
The only friends we do have do not have any experience with children and I don't feel comfortable leaving a baby with them.
My grandparents are local, but they are too senile and I would be afraid of something terrible happening (like them totally forgetting about the baby, or setting an infant on the changing table and walking away).

My parents and sisters will definitely be the first babysitters on call - but one of our neighbors just turned 13 and is taking her babysitting course - in a few years when LO is a toddler she will be the perfect babysitter. I think it's fun for kids to get to spend time with an older teenager, too. I actually babysat the 13 year old from the time she was a month old all the way up until she was 10, so it's kind of like coming full circle

We don't have one right now. We really would like to find one. Our neighbors have a 15 year old daughter and if we had slightly older kids I would use her in a heartbeat, but still feel a little iffy about leaving an infant with her.

Ours is a girl from church in her early 20's. She loves our girls and often has then for Sunday School, so she's awesome. We also have our neighbour watch them when she's not at university, she's one of my best friends, and again adores the girls. I pay her in presents. It's a good deal.
We don't have any family in town, so my mom can visit if we need her for something big (like having another baby) but she's an hour and a half (and two mountain passes) away so not so great for date night!

We use my mom and my MIL primarily and I generally try to keep it pretty fair and rotate back and forth. If it's my mom's turn I ask her first and if she can't then I ask MIL but I always give that person the opportunity. We also use our neighbor (we call her GiGi) which is handy in a last minute type situation since she's 2 houses down. Yesterday I knew our moms were both available but GiGi hadn't gotten to see our daughter in awhile so we asked her instead.
We also use our pastor's daughters because I feel like it's important to give young girls the opportunity to earn some money. The only money I made in high school came from babysitting jobs and I greatly appreciate the opportunities that I was given to earn money as well as learn a lot about babies and children from those experiences so it means a lot to me to be able to provide that to young (responsible) girls we know.

My younger sister stays over at our house on the weekends, and she watched my LO every Friday night after he goes down for the night. My SIL will watch LO after work on a weekday for us about once a month. Depending on FIL's schedule, he is able to babysit for an entire day. We are very fortunate to have so many people who can pitch in and help.
