I felt like LO was old enough and he had already stared weaning himself a bit.

It was a mixture of milk not coming in and needing to take meds for my migraines. I think if one of those things had been the issue I could have toughed it out longer, but with them put together it was just too much.

Supply issues, LO not interested, mainly. He more or less weaned himself. I was happy to make it 8 months with 5 of those months pumping at work. I wished I could have gone longer, but it was getting exhausting.

I dried out fast after I got pregnant. LO was 9 months old when I weaned.

I started to dry up after stopping pumping (I met my goal for pumping to a year). She lost interest because there wasn't much supply and it was just a comfort thing. Total BF journey was 18 months which I was really happy about.

One night DS just didn't nurse to sleep and never asked for it again. He was 21 months.

i'm still nursing at 19 months, and hope to wean after we get back from our trip to the philippines in august. she will be 23 months then. i want to wean because i think the older she is, the harder it will be to wean, and i would be fine emotionally with stopping any time now.

We are in the process of weaning. She is weaned during the day but still wants to nurse to sleep. I am stopping because i think ahe is old enough and i have surpassed my goal. She is 13months

With DS1, because he weaned (partly due to being pregnant and my milk drying up). DS2 is still going strong.

@birdofafeather: twice a day! Morning and night. She still loves it.

I wanted to get preggers again and I have to stop 2 months before that. It happened to coincide with his second birthday. I was totally over it and figure he would have gone longer if I let him.

@Mrs. Bee: you always saying the same thing (that you are still breastfeeding and you wish you had weaned yesterday) and it cracks me up. haha!!
For me LO dumped me. He has better things to do by 8+ months. After countless episodes of nursing strikes, things were suddenly all good for about 2 weeks. Then there was this one night, I offered my breast, he looked at my nipple, touched and played with it, and then pushed it away like it was a monster and started crying for help. There I know that was the end of it I pumped until 10 months though.

Sadie couldn't latch. Breastfeeding was just her screaming & me bawling... there really was no feeding going on. And, I hated pumping.

My supply dried up when I got pregnant. DD went straight from EBF to breastmilk (frozen stash) and formula in a sippy without any complaints. I thought it was weird how quickly she adapted considering she was only 8.5 months. I'm sad that we weren't able to make it to at least a year, but I'm grateful we were able to go as long as we did and even more so for my crazy over supply early on. I still have enough to give her one or two feedings of milk a day until she's a year old.
