I know having 2 under 2 won't be easy and it's for that reason mavrick will continue to go to daycare while im on mat leave with baby 2. Sure it's money I could keep for myself, but that also means I would loose his spot and those are hard to find.
Will you get your first taken care of while you take care of the little one?

If you can afford it then definitely keep him in. You don't want to lose the spot if anything.

I don't have a #2 yet, but I'm planning on having my mom stay with me for at least a month, and will be hiring someone to help with the cleaning and cooking.

My in-laws are here to help with BebeDeux until March, but we're still undecided on what to do after they leave (Claire will be 17 months old then, and BebeDeux will be 4 months old). We've considered daycare, but the good ones in my area have 1-2 year waiting lists...so we may go the mother's helper or nanny route.

We'll definitely keep RJ in daycare since ours is nearby and affordable. Hopefully we can afford for me to stay home for at least a few months (I'm a contractor so I won't get any paid leave) but we're hoping grandma(s) can come and help out after I have to go back to work. Our daycare's minimum age is 15 months (it's really more of a pre-pre-school) so if we need to fill the gap between grandma(s) and entering daycare, we'll probably hire a nanny for 6 months or so just for the baby.

Ya hats off to all the SAHMs who have 2,3,4,5 kids and no daycare and/or help. Definitely not my cup of tea.
