Some daycares pick up from schools, so you may be able to find a daycare who will meet your LO at dismissal, and then you'd pick him up from daycare.

We'll do public throughout. We like the schools where we live now, so that's a good option for us.

Most likely public. Our school district is fantastic. I might consider sending her to private for middle school though, for smaller class sizes and more individualized attn.

We're about to move soon, but we're not sure where, cause dh's company is moving. If the school system doesn't benefit ds, then I'll either homeschool or find a private school in the area for him and LO. He's a real smarty pants, so I'm not sure if a low rating school would be ok for him, or if he would get bored there.

We do have some sort of option of area to move to, but it has to be within an acceptable area of dh's warehouse, cause of the cost of gas and time. We also have a budget for our home, so it's not like we have the option of just going anywhere regardless of what it costs. We have to find the right home.

I attended public my entire life. My elementary school was one of the best in the city, after 6th grade about a third of my classmates went to private school. My brother also attended my elementary, but my parents put him in private school in 3rd grade. Later he attended a public school magnet program.

Some public school pre-k programs are half day. Hire someone to take your child to daycare. Could be a high school student, nanny of a friend etc.

Pick the school or program that works best for your child. You are lucky to be able to include private schools in the mix. Goodluck.

We spent a significant amount of money more to buy a home in our particular school district v. in neighboring town expressly for our future children. The system is in the top 25 in the country each year so I think we'd be mad not to take advantage.

We are in Montessori preschool, but the plan had always been to go public at first grade through 5th then private again in Jr High when they are transitioning schools anyway. Mr jacks family is public school teachers so he was super committed to public, but now he's wavering.

If we stay in our current house, she will go to private elementary school. If we move, she will go to public school. I'd like to see my tax dollars being used on my own child but I cannot send her to the schools in our current town.

We plan to move a couple towns over to where they have good public schools. But if that doesn't work out by the time our future kids are school age, we would definitely go with private until we could move.

But to your point about admissions, I'm not sure that you would necessarily have a huge amount of trouble if you don't switch to a preschool now. Maybe you should identify a couple private elementary schools you like, and then do some research on them before assuming what the requirements will be?

We live in a school district that's known to be pretty darn good, so we plan on sending him to public school. we both grew up in public systems also. Plus, private school is expensive. We'll save that for college!

Public. We specifically bought a house in a good school district for this reason. The only private school in our town is a Catholic school and we would never send our kids there because we are not religious. Also, because unfortunately this particular school has done a lot of hateful things in our community. So, public for our kids!

We chose our suburb for the great school district, so we'll send them to public school.

I voted public since that's the most likely route, but it depends what the schools are like where we end up. I just read about an amazing sounding all girls middle school (private) where we live now, though we'll almost certainly be moving in the next year or so. My husband went to Catholic school and I'm interested in Montessori for preschool, so we're not really ruling out anything yet.
