Our LO's will be going to the same school district that DH went to from Pre-K to graduation which is really cool! Some of his old teachers are still around and we know it's a really good district. My district has went a little downhill since I was there so I'm glad we are in this area instead!

@Bao: Not the same as me, as we live in DH's hometown, mine is 4 hours away. But, obviously yes to DH's. We live about 6 minutes away from DH's parents, and his childhood home. Our kids might go to the same school DH went too, we haven't decided yet... but we still have time

Yup! Same school district that DH and I both went to! I'm not sure what teachers will still be around once they are in school but we have a friend who teaches in the district and MIL is an administrative assistant at one of the schools too.

Nope. We're not in the same state as we were when DH & I were in school. Even if we were, our children would not go to the same elementary school or middle/high school. The elementary is public, and mine is really bad and his is only okay. We went to the same private middle/high school and I really didn't enjoy it (it was Church of Christ, and I was not Church of Christ and was definitely treated differently).

Nope! I moved to a completely different state. DH moved a town over. We're really happy with our current school district though. I do think it would have been cool if DS went to the same school district as me!

Same district as DH and I, but different schools because we live a couple of towns over. My sister teaches at the elementary school that they'll go to (if they don't go to the one where DH teaches, which is in a different district).

We both went to private schools, but live in a different district now anyways.

We live in the same school district that I went to high school in but I went to Catholic school and we're leaning toward public school. My high school is actually much closer to our house than the assigned public high school but I don't feel strongly about sending him there at this point.

Nope. I live in a different county and DH is from a different state. Regardless, the schools they are going to are in the process of being built. We live in a new planned community.

Yep, as long as we don't move before she starts school. She won't be at my same schools, but she will be in the same district.

If we stay where we are LO will most likely be going to the same school Dh went to. I'm not thrilled about it, as it's not the best school in the area, but hey, Dh turned out ok

Possibly, but only if we move to where I went to HS. We won't be moving to where DH is from, and if for some reason we do, we will put them in private school.

No, we both don't live in the country where we grew up. I have high school friends who have LOs who will attend the same high school we attended... I think its super cool!

We live in my hometown but not the same district. I don't think I will send my son to the high school I went to.

yes! its a big reason why we bought a house here. the kids will go to different schools though.

No, they won't. I moved 3 hours away and DH bounced around to a ton of schools in the city of Boston. He would still like DS to go to his HS though, which is a private school for boys only. He LOVED it, but it would be a really long hike from where we live, and it'll also be super expensive. When he was a kid he got a ton of need-based financial aid, but we won't qualify for that.

Probably not, we currently live in a different state from where we grew up. Even if we eventually move back to our home state I don't think we will end up in the same school district.

We live in the same school system that DH went to school in, but there are over 20 high schools or something crazy like that so DD will not be in the same elementary/middle/high school that DH attended.

Short answer- no. Long answer- I moved a lot growing up, so the only school I went to that she could wind up at is my high school. It was a magnet school that pulled from anywhere in our county, so it's possible, but I seriously doubt we'll still live here. It was also more hard core academic than I want for LO (I lean towards unschooling, so basically the opposite of that school), and has no athletics, which DH doesn't like. Unless it turned out that that environment would really suit her, I wouldn't want her there. DH lived in a suburb that's got crappy schools, so we wouldn't choose to live there even if it made sense, which it doesn't. We move a lot, and plan to homeschool initially, so I have no clue what, if any, district she might go to school in.

No, DH and I grew up in the same district but the area has aged and we moved to wear there were more young families

Yes, same school district as us and same schools as the ones I went to as a kid. I'm hoping he gets into charter school though. The district hasn't been doing so well for the past 10 years or so.
