I'm returning to work next week and wondering if it is necessary for me to buy a nice nursing bra to wear to work. Is it easier to wear a nursing bra to work if you are pumping, or do you just wear a regular bra? Do you use your hands free bra to pump at work?

No. I wear a regular bra and use a hands free bra to pump.

I dont pump at work but I wear a nursing/sleep bra to work. its just the most comfortable

I almost always wore nursing bras to work. I couldn't fit into any of my pre-pregnancy (or even during-pregnancy) bras, so I figured if I was going to buy a bunch of new bras, I might as well just buy nice nursing bras so I could wear them all the time. I never really liked my hands-free nursing bra, but found that I could usually kind of lean the bottles on my desk while pumping and still use my hands to type, so I'd just unhook the nursing bra cups, stick on the suction cups, and pump.
Once I started pumping less and my boobs stabilized in size a little more, I bought a nice non-nursing bra, but it was kind of a pain at work- I had to halfway undress to pump. I pretty much only wore it when I had meetings and wanted my boobs to look minimally saggy for guests. -
I haven't worn a regular since before I was pregnant. I basically live in nursing bras and unclip and zip on my handsfree bra at work when I'm pumping.

I wear either a nursing tank or bra to work. It is much easier/faster to access them 3x a day. I use the simple wishes hands free pumping bra which I highly recommend. I bring it with me and put it on over my bra/tank when it is time to pump. It zips up the front and is super adjustable so I've been able to use it 4wks PP right through now (7mo PP). I prefer the tanks for easy access and tummy coverage but it is nice to look perky in a sweater so half the time I suck it up and wear an actual bra. Target has great sleep bras ($20 for 2), My favorite nursing bra is from Motherhood and is only $30, Glamour Mom tanks are my go to but they are pricy ($50 each) I have two and rotate them. They have the pull down flaps but also nice coverage with just a cut out for your nips - very discreet!

I wear a nursing bra to work - its much easier when pumping and for nursing LO when I get home from work. When I pump I put the hands free pumping bra on over my regular bra so I can be hands free when I pump.

Yep! I wear scrubs though so you can't tell what kind of bra I'm wearing. I hate wearing them out.

I wear a nursing bra to work. I don't have any regular bras that fit me! You can't see the clips through my shirts so, I'm ok with it. Also, it makes it easier to flip down and pump!

@JessLC: Thanks for posting this... I was trying to figure out how this would work... sounds like the consenus is to wear the nursing bra and put the hands free bra over top (or not).

I wore a nursing tank. It's winter and cold and I like to layer.

Nursing tanks or bras almost always! Because I also nurse before work and as soon as I get home. It just makes everything easier. At work I use my simple wishes bustier on top when pumping.

Nursing bra or nursing tank, I put my hands-free bra over my un-clipped nursing bra and pump.

Nursing tank under everything. The only issue I ever have is pointies but whatever they are just boobs. Half the things on the planet have them

in other news, i just realized that i've been ignoring the zipper on my hands free bra this entire time and i velcro and un-velcro it every time i put it on and take it off. this is embarrassing.

@JessLC: I bought 1 nice regular bra that I wear to work most days (washing it during the week). I occasionally wear a nursing bra, but I don't like the way it shapes my boobs so I feel like my regular bra looks better.
I think it depends on where you will be pumping. We have a mothers' room that I pump in, so I have complete privacy and am not working while I pump. I usually wear a blouse and pencil skirt to work, so I do have to basically undress and re-hook my bra, tuck in my blouse, etc. each time. I feel like the added time isn't that much versus the benefit of wearing a bra I like

@ellybecks: i just went out and got fitted for a nice nursing bra, so i'll see if that works well. if it does, then i'll buy more. if not, then i'll just buy regular bras.
also discovered i've been wearing the wrong band size and bra size for my entire life. whoops!
