For moms that work out of home and pump during the day - if you are traveling for a day, say to a conference or something and you don't have access to a refrigerator, how do you pump and store milk? do you just skip pumping all together?

I went to a conference once and just pumped in my car and dumped the milk. If its an all day conference I don't know how comfortable you would be skipping a pumping session. After not pumping or feeding for 4 hours my breast would be sore.

I used an Ameda cooler bag to transport milk during my long commute.

Breastmilk is stable for a good amount of time at room tempurature. So, depending on the time, it could work out and you wouldn't have to dump it.

My LC said that breastmilk can stay at room temp for up to 8 hours. I would bring a cooler with an ice pack if I was pumping on-the-go. You couldn't pay me to dump my pumped milk!

My friend in sales has a mini cooler and with an ice pack it stays cold all day, even in summer

I use a min-cooler, but if it's longer than 12 hours, if you're at a hotel, often they will let you put it in their fridge. Just ask!

I went to a conference at a hotel and called ahead to ask how they could accommodate a pumping mom. They gave me the only room available , a room on the concierge floor. I pumped 2x and stored the milk in the mini fridge. Many places are very accommodating.

I used a cooler bag and icepacks; actually use this every day even when at the office. I can pump in my office but our fridge in downstairs and I don't want to take the time to walk down each time. Plus the fridge at my office can get scary so I'd rather not have DS' milk in it if at all possible.

I've pumped on the to before and jut ring a cooler bag with a ton of ice packs. Over the summer we were at a beach and I pumped twice. The milk was still cold when I got home!
