Sigh. Yet another sleep post.
LO (15.5 months) had been doing SO WELL with sleep like 2 weeks ago. he was sleeping from 630/7 until 615 or so. Then he started waking up around 4 or 5, but all I had to do was go into his room, lay him back down, and that was it. He would go back to sleep. I thought eventually that wake up would go away.
We went away last week, and used the paci a LOT more than we had previously, because I didn't want to bother hotel guests, plus it was helpful on the plane, etc. The thing is that now, when he has an early wake up at 5/530, pretty much only giving him the paci will help him go back to sleep. He's obviously still tired, and will then sleep another 1.5-2 hours.
I would LOVE to get rid of that wakeup and have him sleep straight til 630 or so. So I guess my question is--would you start him out in the beginning of the night with the paci (even though he puts himself to sleep without it fine)? Would you continue to give it to him at 5/530 and hope that he drops it eventually? Or would you try to sleep train for that wakeup (probably using modified CIO), but knowing there's a good chance he woudl just be up for the day at 530, exhausted?
