You won't need underwear, unless you don't want granny underpants, but its nice to have those cuz you will be wearing pads... What about camera or video cam?

I third the mesh panties. But I guess it doesn't hurt to bring them. I loved having my own towel to use after I got out of the shower. The hospital towels are small and scratchy. Maybe some swim trunks for your DH in case you want to get in the shower? Oh and I brought my nipple cream with me. I started using it immediately. And I had like 5 pillows from home. It was awesome. Oh and a sweatshirt for your DH. It can get chilly at night in the hospital.

I think I brought the diaper bag for the baby's stuff. Then we brought our small rolling suitcase for DH and mine's stuff. We brought a cooler with drinks and snacks in it. And I think we had one more tote bag with stuff too.

Snacks! Hospital kitchens have very limited hours, and babies do not. You and your hubby will likely want food after baby is born, even in the middle of the night (or after 7pm where I delivered), and between meals after that.

I packed my stuff in one large duffle bag (Vera Bradley's large version), my husband packed his stuff in a backpack, and then baby's stuff was in my diaper bag (also used this as my purse). We left the Boppy and exercise ball in the car (didn't end up needing the ball, my husband got the Boppy after LO was born).

For next time, I would bring an extra empty bag with us as we received so many gifts and other stuff in the hospital (plus we tried to take home as many diapers, wipes, lotions, etc as they would let us!)

It was hot as heck in the hospital the first night but really cold after that. The hospital pillows are scratchy but I didn't bring my own bc I didn't want them to get nasty.

Besides others' suggestions, I would add
A nursing pillow
Sleep mask
Hand lotion (sooo dry in the hospital and you wash your hands a zillion times!)
I also brought some reusable grocery bags on my bag to take stuff home in.

I agree with the hospital mesh undies! They are great.

On your list, I would not bring the sling (I can't imagine when you would be wearing the baby in the hospital...) and the lactation cookies (unless you really like the taste of them?). I wore a nursing bra, and it was nice to have something supportive under my gown. I would also second @dagret's suggestion of a sleep mask--super helpful when the lights are left on in the MOTN by nurses. I would also brng a water bottle with a straw, like a camelbak--makes it easier to drink when you're lying in bed.

I brought my own pillow, but only brought in in after labor and I alos brought a blanket from home as a comfort item.

I had 2 bags for DH and me & one for LO. We ended up staying for 4 days so DH had to runh ome for more clothes for us.
