Just realized that it's April and I thought April was Infertility Awareness month! But when I do a quick google search, it says that it's now Infertility Awareness WEEK! Why week? We should get a month of this. Come on! What's the stats on it? I think 1 out 8 people deal with some type of infertility.

I really want to post something on facebook to out myself but it's just TMI. If I find the courage to do it, I'll probably only post it to my female friends. It does still make me anxious. I want people to know but I'm afraid everyone will think it's TMI. Argghhh!!

I found this FB status but still unsure about posting it on my wall.

Infertility is a heart-wrenching, faith-questioning, relationship-testing, life-altering experience. April is Infertility Awareness Month. Whether a friend, a family member, a colleague or yourself has fought through this difficult fate that MILLIONS of women and men are fighting day in and day out. Post this as your status if you or someone you know has walked to hell and back for the chance to be a MOM or DAD.

Anyway, I found this on the Resolve website. Their goals for this awareness week are:

-- Ensure that people trying to conceive know the guidelines for seeing a specialist when they are trying to conceive.
-- Enhance public understanding that infertility is a disease that needs and deserves attention.
--Educate legislators about the disease of infertility and how it impacts people in their state.

I think they are great goals.

Anyway... are you going to do anything for infertility awareness month or week?
