@MaryM: Well that's good that the price is better than you expected. Hopefully it sells in just the right amount of time for it to all work smoothly!

@FannyMae: Glad there were no underlying issues and that you can get back to TTC when you are ready

  2. MaryM

@FannyMae: glad your appointment went well! I think it wasn't until my 4th cycle that I started to become some what "normal" again.

@FannyMae: Relieved to hear all is good & you can make the decision to go back when you're ready.

@HappyBluebird: I'm not sure what made me think of this...but have you started your letter writing? How's it going?

  5. HappyBluebird

    clementine / 957 posts

@MaryM: Yes I have started! I am up to date! I signed up for a subscription through A Beautiful Mess for Happy Mail. Each month I get a package with cards, postcards, and other paper goods so I'm saving some money that way. And the cards are so cute!

I think I have enough people that I talk to on a regular basis to get me through March/April. After that I'm going to have to send seconds or find some new friends

Is anyone doing anything fun for the weekend?

I think it's supposed to snow again tomorrow, so I think I'll be refusing to leave the house. I can't wait for spring!

  8. HappyBluebird

    clementine / 957 posts

@MaryM: DH and I had a sushi date scheduled for tomorrow but we're getting snow too. I think we'll go tonight since this is his last day of getting off at 6. Then I'll probably spend the rest of the weekend relaxing inside.... Too cold here!

No special plans here... just lots of grading, lesson planning for my "unannounced observation" sometime in the next 2 weeks, and hoping to ovulate

Pretty dull here. We just finished a second birthday party for my friend's twin boys - now relaxing tonight, and spending tomorrow feeding my parents' animals, as they're away on holidays. Fun times!

  11. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@DesertDreams88: I put off going to my mom's because I should be Oing soon too (and its a good thing I did since she'll be getting more snow than me)

  12. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

    @jaguar: what kind of animals?

  13. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

@MaryM: A couple of dogs, a cat, a cockatoo & a whole bunch of tadpoles, haha!

@jaguar: I imagined something more exotic. Lol

I started reading a book about infertility last night and picked it up this morning while DH slept. It was a little overwhelming but I couldn't put it down!

My mom called and woke me up and I came down to see DH brought home heart shaped donuts

I love donuts, but rarely have them because I could inhale a dozen. It was so sweet of him to get them on his way home this morning!

(I devoured the powdered custard filled one. Yum!)

@MaryM: Aw, what a sweet treat in more ways than one What book is it?

  16. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

@MaryM: Haha, nah, no farm animals or anything.. but their own little zoo.

That's so sweet! I loooooove donuts. Yum yum!

Today I realised that not only would I have been 38 weeks with the first loss, I would have been 20 weeks with the second. And here I am, still no baby in my belly. Today sucks.

I'm also petrified about tomorrow's ultrasound. I don't think I can handle more bad news.

@MaryM: so sweet! love when our DH's do something nice and thoughtful

    @DesertDreams88: how are you doing?

@jaguar: I'm so sorry. Praying and wishing so hard that your ultrasound is good news

@HappyBluebird: im doing good, had a big discussion with hubby last night about TTC and when to start. made a thread about possible christmas due date which had some interesting responses. will join the march POAS board now and will see how we go

  21. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

@FannyMae: & @HappyBluebird: Thanks girls, I really, REALLY need this to be all clear so we can move forward.

  22. HappyBluebird

    clementine / 957 posts

@FannyMae: I think I'll be joining the March poas board once I get AF in 5 days. Nervous about getting back into TTC. A Christmas baby wouldn't be a first choice but after all this I think I'm good being due around Christmas. I do get nervous about winter babies though.....

This is what we are dealing with outside today so it's entirely possible this could happen anytime between December and February. Alot of the major roads are just stopped with cars because they can't plow fast enough!

  23. FannyMae

    persimmon / 1461 posts

@HappyBluebird: crazy cold! brrrrr!! I have this idealised view of what winter is like in the northern hemisphere (hot cocoa, wood fires, wooly jumpers) when in reality I bet its teeth chattering icy cold!

december is hot hot HOTTT here, its feb and 36 celcius today with a thunderstorm coming. I think about how that would be with a newborn baby, air con would be pumping.

  24. HappyBluebird

    clementine / 957 posts

@FannyMae: we definitely have the hot cocoa, fires and comfy warm pj's. It's much better when it comes on the weekend and you don't have to be anywhere! You can enjoy it more!

  25. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@DesertDreams88: facing infertility: a catholic approach. It's the first religion based book I haven't found to be too overly religious (such as "just pray and have faith and you'll get your baby-they recognize some people won't in this book)

@FannyMae: I've given up any sort of thought that I can control when I'll have a baby. Lol. I used to want to think we'd wait until after I finished grad school, but a friend once said what is really the bigger thing in life? A piece of paper or a tiny human? I realized the human was probably priority over most things!

@jaguar: I hope you get great news tomorrow!

@HappyBluebird: wow! I think we got 5idh inches. Yours looks worse!

We got what I gues is a lot of house stuff done today, though it doesn't look like it now since our living room is even messier. I scrubbed our cabinets and got half the hardware replaced and dH installed a new chandelier (which took four tries! Ugh it was so frustrating)

  26. Crystal

    @jaguar: fingers crossed for you!

@MaryM: good progress on the house! I'll have to look into the book.

@HappyBluebird: brrrrr. Looks cold! I'm not used to all that snow.

@FannyMae: remind me what country you are in? Im in California, and it's warm here too!

I had a hysteroscopy yesterday and feel pretty good. Sore, but good. They removed a few polyps, and I have an appt at the end of March to discuss a prescription for clomid. We have to take a few cycles off from TTC due to the hysteroscopy, but that just gives me more time to get back to the gym and drop some weight. Fx we finally see another BFP soon.

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@Crystal: glad your procedure went well!

I really recommend the book. Ive learned a ton. im really glad to be reading it before looking into interventions. I feel like treatment is less taboo after reading this

I've honestly gotten teary a few times. I like the mix of personal stories, biblical analogies and catechism. And at the end of the chapter are reflections you can share with your spouse, and a section that gives advice to friends and family of people with IF

  28. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@MaryM: thanks! DH has been a champ.

Do you think it's a good read for husbands too? I think he's struggling with his faith and our struggles with IF.

  29. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@Crystal: it's written by a woman, but I do think it could help a man. It does focus on how partners feel different things at different times, so I think that could be helpful. And I think it could easily help open up conversations.

There's a really good (I thought) explanation of how God doesn't let IF happen. That's been a huge struggle of mine... (How to not blame God)

  30. FannyMae

@Crystal: like @jaguar: I live in Australia, except that I'm in Melbourne good to hear the hysteroscopy is done and you're recovering well.

@FannyMae: I've always wanted to visit there!

@MaryM: I've been struggling with that too. Hugs.

@HappyBluebird: I LOVE snow! I would love to go back to the Northern Hemisphere for a few winters. Loved it when I lived in England and we had white winters.

@MaryM: Thanks hon! I'll update one way or another in about 12 hours.

@Crystal: Glad you're recovering well. Hopefully those pesky polyps being gone will help. xx

@FannyMae: How's the weather in Melb? It's been so humid and gross here in Sydney lately.

  33. FannyMae

    persimmon / 1461 posts

@jaguar: its been hot, sticky, humid weather with a thunderstorm on the horizon that seems to be everywhere else in victoria but NOT HERE. my hair has gone fluffy frizzy from the heat. i'm just glad AF is finishing, can't handle it when its sticky hot.

  34. HappyBluebird

    clementine / 957 posts

@MaryM: We got 10 inches at the last check we did last night. They are just now, at 7am, plowing our small neighborhood streets. Roads are still icy so it looks like another relaxing day inside for us.

@Crystal: So glad your procedure went well. Fingers crossed for you

@jaguar: I like snow when it comes on the weekend and I have the option to stay home!

  35. DesertDreams88

    grapefruit / 4361 posts

@MaryM: Thanks for the book recommendation, I'll probably end up buying it next cycle if this cycle doesn't work out... which I'm having a hard time believing it will (CD17 and no O signs yet.) I grew up Catholic but started taking my faith much more seriously in my teens, and that path led me into Protestant circles and becoming a progressive evangelical. Church today was harder than usual.... we have about 70 adult members (and about 70 kids, all under the age of 13...). Today I had a baby directly in front of me, 2 in my row, one directly behind me, and a 38-week pregnant lady behind me as well. At least my church small group feels safer, since out of the 6 couples there, there's been loss, infertility, preemies, and an ectopic pregnancy.... so they "get it."

@Crystal: How long have you been TTC? When/how did your obgyn discover/suspect polyps? Glad for you that you are able to have such a positive attitude about taking some time off TTC, and use that time for getting healthier!

@Jaguar: FX for your ultrasound, you must be pretty close to results due to the time difference here!

As for the weather report... It was all 80s last week with all sunshine and no humidity, so, pretty much perfect in my book!! The weather is why we moved to AZ, I like it hot.hot.hot. I'm happiest in a loose tank top, shorts, and sandals.... or swimming in my pool However, my family lives in CT and we will be out there in March... they've been walloped with snow like @marym and @happybluebird.... eeekkk!

@FannyMae: I HATE humidity. I am actually hanging out for winter. I need some cool air!

@HappyBluebird: That's true, I guess. Snow while trying to commute was always a pain when we lived in the UK - but that's because it used to wreak havoc on public transport in London.

    @DesertDreams88: Beautiful weather there!

Good news, the nurses couldn't see any evidence of the cyst left this morning - yay!

I was given the all clear to stop the pill (thank the heavens!) and wait for a period. Let's hope I don't have to wait too long this time, so we can get going.

  38. DesertDreams88

    grapefruit / 4361 posts

    @Jaguar: yayyyyyyy!

  39. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@jaguar: A lot of people who love snow hate the snow we get. Because it's not usually super cold, we get this dense/heavy nasty snow that really sucks to shovel. Our neighbor's BIL was visiting him and he used to live in Sweden. He had never seen snow like we got before.

And yesterday we got a heat wave so most of our snow is gone. Yay but boo!

@DesertDreams88: Church has been exceptionally hard for me in the last year too. It started getting hard when my dad was sick (he died from a brain tumor). I think because I went home so many weekends and I went to church with them so much. Church started making me really anxious.

And then since the MC, it's gotten even harder. My pastor is a traditionalist so the congregation has a lot of huge families, and although no one's ever said anything, I feel judged for going to church alone (DH isn't Catholic). But it's the parish we got married in and I do really respect the priest (I grew up in a rather traditional church), so I also don't want to go elsewhere.

@jaguar: So glad you got great news! that your body does what it's supposed to do!
